It is disappointing that artists like Aphex and FSOL jumped on this shit bandwagon so quickly.
I'm pretty sure the Aphex one was a giant pisstake though?

He said when it was released that Pool wouldn't be coming to streaming services, it wasn't removed or anything.
Oh that’s right I remember reading that on here I think. Thanks for the reminder!

All of his discography but Pool seems to still be on Apple Music. Not sure if it's because they pay like twice as much as Spotify or if they just haven't been removed yet.
Wonder why Pool is the only one unavailable. Also, weird that Iss006 shows up as an album - maybe cause it's over 30 minutes?
Also, fuck Spotify, and I hope Apple continues to increase both their stream payout and their ad-revenue sharing (I didn't even know Apple Music had ads?).

You’re in it for the long haul, I see.
i've been in it for a minute (many many minutes).

I made a phantasia play list. It has 73 songs, with 7 hours and 7 minutes of music - I put it on shuffle and let it go. Will be doing the same for Midnight Sun and the Northern Lights material (of which Alcor and Mizar are my favourites).
I might wait for Aleksi to drop a few of these Cycles and then take out another loan against my house to buy them.

Watching “Invasian” on AppleTV. The show is ok, not great not terrible, but the music by Max Richter is fantastic.

They finished a new season of this before MKW passed away. I’ve suspected there must be massive nationwide networks of gun running fueling this rash of gun violence in American cities, seems to be what’s happening.
Could you post the name of the doc? It seems like the vid you linked is region-locked.

At the beginning of the pandemic nowhere was accepting donations
I refuse to donate to value village, pretty much only salvation army out of the chain thrift stores.
Churches you have to be careful and do a little vetting, same with the refugee centres. But otherwise those are my go-tos if none of our friends will take our kid's stuff.

So since we're actually just posting shit that's not 4 on the floor...
Also, a lot of Venetian Snares, obviously, even though he may not produce "techno".

I really hate being wasteful
please donate those to somewhere useful like your local refugee centre or church, failing that, the Salvation Army thrift stores. Lots of people will need that shit.

world's first NFT film starring anthony hopkins coming soon (as a digital collectable film to anyone that can afford it)
From an article around the release: "Instead of just watching the movie in theatres or on a streaming service, a select group of people will be able to actually own a copy of it. Having a ZERO CONTACT NFT in one’s collection will make them the envy of fans that do not."

Just watched “Don’t Look Up”. Although the points it makes are blunt, it was still pretty good, with a bit of dark humour.

Deathprod: https://boomkat.com/charts/boomkat-end-of-year-charts-2021/1593 (apparently he only listened to one record)

Oren Ambarchi: https://boomkat.com/charts/boomkat-end-of-year-charts-2021/1720
chengo approved.
Also I'd like to amend my list and add Biosphere - Angel's Delight. It came out in January and I've criminally neglected it since then. Lovely album from Mr. Jenssen.

this?
I wish that would have shown up during my search - but I'm a noob and an old. So i usually have no idea what the fuck I'm doing. You whippersnappers and your tech.
Oh and obviously, thank you!

So I'm about to have a month or so of bachelor life - I want to buy Civ VI (for a Macbook Air with the Apple silicone), but I'm confused - the 2K website has a huge sale, but then it says only available for Windows, even though it lists Mac minimum system requirements. Steam has the base game on sale, but not the Platinum edition or Anthology. I could buy it through the App store but that's $85!!!!
wat do?

That’s just that burnt toast.
I bet you wish it was powdered toast.SpoilerI have a friend who’s an ER doc, he says he goes in, does his shift, goes home and drinks a beer and forgets about the day. I guess having that ability to compartmentalize is necessary for your mental health.

ha, i thought maybe so at first, but not exactly, the first rounds of NFTs for it are just standard bullshit links to an image.
the ultimate prize for all this NFT bullshit for Sakamoto's piece is...buying a handwritten music sheet. it's just eBay but with some extra bullshit on the front end to make it feel kewl.
Lol yeah I didn’t read closely enough.
QuoteYou get to bid on an NFT, to then join an auction for another NFT.
It’s NFTs all the way down! Lol-

isn't this ALWAYS what NFTs are?
I didn't want to use the word always, cause I'm sure there's some where it's not (actually, I think that Sakamoto one where you buy the right to own the signed printed sheet music is kind of different...cause you may actually get a physical product out of it. still just hype BS though).

NFTs for music / auction music to the highest bidder via crypto tech

A related link from there sums it all up: https://www.artnews.com/art-news/news/opensea-valuation-series-c-funding-1234615081/. Just the headline is necessary actually: NFT Platform Opensea Gets $13.3 B Valuation Following Series C Funding
I'm sure they're just in it for the power of crypto to decentralize the economy.
