  1. Overstepped your expectations didn't it? dohohohohoho
  2. I laughed incredibly hard. These are the reasons I love this forum.
  3. When Mt. St. Michel explodes at the beginning.
  4. unfortunately, some of us have been reading since post #1 I've read it all...
  5. Ah, shit I forget where it was posted, but I have this mix Autechre did and they used Molting and Punishing the Atoms (from the Printf album) by Vsnares in it as well as a ton of hip-hop. Sorry for being off topic. I really do hope Bleep does an early release as I'm finally ordering a vinyl of this tomorrow.
  6. I had no clue how to say "Autechre" when I first liked them, nor did I want to sound like a twat while trying to ask some Borders/Best Buy employee if they had any Aw-tek-ray in stock.
  7. Oh definitely. But you also have got to look at the other side. If it weren't for DLing many people would never have discovered Autechre and thus gone onto buy their albums. For example - me. not to come off like a total music snob/asshole...but i preferred it that way. finding music buy hunting it down. going to clubs, hearing a track, then going on the search in the stores and magazines to find it. and actually scoring when you found it at your local import store. now the net almost devalues the music. making it so accessible. sure its great that more people have found the music, but it has also taken away the uniqueness. this of course is just how i feel about it. I really have to disagree with some of the prospects there. Being a kid, more so, when I first found Autechre (I was 15), there was absolutely no way I could go to a club and simply just drop money as a bet on music, which I actually did when I bought Quaristice back in 2008. It's not exactly easy in the suburbs to just walk outside as a minor, go to a club, listen to stuff, find out who it is, buy it at a store not near you (Borders is the closest shop with music), and yeah. So instead, I found them through Youtube videos, dug it, downloaded a few tracks from LP5 and Confield and Chiastic Slide, liked it more, bought an album, and now whenever I see an album of theirs that I can get my hands on at the music store in downtown Portland I shop at, I buy it. So far I've accumulated, on CD, Quaristice, Confield, EP7, Peel Sessions 1 & 2, Draft 7.30, and I think one other. I have every intent to buy Oversteps and the last time I was at that shop I asked if I could preorder it and they didn't even have a number for it yet. So cheers to Oversteps being blasted in my dad's ears at some point.
  8. please go get a record player asap, if you consider yourself a music aficionado and you dont own one seriously wtf is wrong with you? Probably because I'm 17 and still in high school without a job. My dad has a really nice one from the 80's (I think), it just happens to be in storage in the back of the storage unit. Trust me, I've asked for one for the last two years for birthdays/Christmas/no reason, and my dad always says "I have one damn it" and I'm way too cheap to go buy one if we have one somewhere. haha
  9. Ahhhhh. The only reason I want the vinyl, other than it's A VINYL, is for that awesome poster because I have no music posters! But then I have nothing to play a vinyl on. I should just get the CD, but if I order the vinyl I can just burn it to CD and have vinyls, and .WAVs and a kickass poster and be short $70+!
  10. I'm really glad I was on the shitter when I finally read through this entirely as I pissed myself laughing, especially once I got to os veix3.
  11. I say this as a breakcore kid: I love it when Autechre lays of the beats just as much as when they make something as fucked up as the entire album that is Draft 7.30 or Confield. I'm also a huge lover of reverb and stuff. Maybe this album was tailored for me or something because I love every second of it.
  12. i don't know, i may need to listen to on speakers because because headphone listening for me gave me the impression it had mediocre mixing/mastering All the versions of it combined really entrance me. I don't know why, I just really like Quaristice. Initially, I hated it as it was the first full album by Ae that I heard, but as I listened more and more I'd just skip songs I didn't like, then I stopped finding songs I didn't like and now I do marathons through it, Versions, then the EPs and don't regret any of it. If I had to specifically pick out songs I like, I'd go with rale, IO, Phylopn, Plyphon, IO (Mons), Steels, Perlence range3, The PlclCpC, and so many others. @_@ Even if this leak is fake, which I really don't think it is, I still like it. I'm probably blinded by fanboyism though, since I entirely think it is Autechre and love their stuff.
  13. Maybe it's just me wanting to believe this is Autechre (I really like it), but don't a lot of the reverb and soundscapes beyond the melodies sound very Autechre-like? A lot of the percussion too. That's why I think it's them. It just seems to fit what I think of when I think of Autechre (specifically how they do soundscapes and percussion).
  14. There are some crackles in places, but I honestly don't know if they're intentional or not. We'll see upon the release. I'm seriously debating whether or not to pre-order the vinyl or CD, especially considering I have no way of playing a vinyl.
