Hi everybody,

I first would like to introduce myself. My name is Matze and until now I was looking around here for some time, as I concider most of you guys as pretty open minded music lovers. And that's exactly why I would love to get some feedback of yours for my just finished bachelor work.

I produced an album under my alias Lo.max, in which I tried to combine all my different musical roots reaching from rock/punk over hip hop to more demanding electronical music, with the goal to break the boarders between all the existing stereotypes. I don't wanna spend too much words, so if you like take a listen:

i would really like to get some feedback as it was a work for over 2 months, so it would really mean a lot to me if some of you could take the time to listen.

all the best

matze

only had a very brief listen as i'm not actually on my own computer etc, but it all sounds pretty OK to me - can't really comment on production/mastering etc as i'm listening on monitor speakers, but some of the tunes have some really nice elements and melodies. pretty standard electronic music fare TBH, but well done standard electronic music fare.

probably find quite a few takers for this album on here i'd imagine...

anyway, yeah, pretty nice.

oh, and wrong forum BTW. but i'm sure some nice mod will move it over to YLC.

EDIT: oh yeah, READ THE RULES.

how about your album title is that a nod to orbital i.e. in sides?

nevertheless here are my thoughts:

hypno: needed a stronger introduction, beat that drops in gets old quickly... the timbre of the melody around 00:45 is nice, and then there's some counterpoint... liking the changes in the drums... i fast-forwarded through to the end and liked that part.

didn't feel like listening to all of the remainder... skipping through i think this is too close to "intelligent techno" for me or "minimal techno" like i imagine plastikman sounds like... i just don't think that anything done in that style can be done originally enough or complexly enough to satisfy me. might be wrong. highlights: sonnenwind, strange ways, you, questions. low point: befreiungsschlag.

er, no mate. you need to listen to some plastikman and also know what techno is and what techno isn't.

don't know what you're talking about, mate...never listened much to orbital at all...do they have an album called like that??

i called the album "in pieces", as each song is separated from the others in terms of feeling, meaning and atmosphere. each track tells a special story and shows another side of me. sorry about the fact lot of you guys aren't able to understand the german lyrics, if someone wants it I can translate them...

i really appreciate your guys feedback, but i really wonder what elements on my album you ever could compare to plastikman/hawtin??? even though i appreciate his work/this kind of music I really wonder what you mean!?

I'm sorry, but I really can't stand people who just skip through tracks, and then have a feeling of beeing able to judge in an objective way...that's just not possible! I definately think that's an insultment to the artists, somehow....

thanks to anyone who listened more closely :)

btw....autechre at the melt! festival was just awesome! :)

can someone tell me what the red folder in front of this thread means?

it means you have a certain amount of views / replies in a certain time that makes this a "hot" topic
