what gets me is this:

Culp’s husband, Thomas, shot her in 2004, then turned the gun on himself. He went to prison for seven years.

The guy was using a shotgun, from close range, and failed twice?

Only 7 years for trying to kill 2 people and successfully mangling one seemingly beyond repair?

Was just going to post something on this -

I'm not going to say I don't feel bad for her, cause I do, but - damn, I threw up a little in my mouth when I saw her "reconstructed" face. I can't imagine what it looked like before that.

Incidentally, she reminds me of the suit Quaid put on in Total Recall

i have enormous respect for this woman, and i do mean that.

having struggled with even a mild skin condition myself and falling repeatedly into crushing depression because of it (perceptual disorder? i dont know) for longer than i can even remember, i can't imagine what she goes through on a daily basis.

in fact i know for certain that if i were in her shoes, i'd have been dead long ago.

this is a sad story

did the guy only get 7 years because he's horribly disfigured also?
