i'll get $758 monthly starting in june and about $15,800 in back-pay

minus 25% to my lawyer, but i think his assistance sealed the deal

this will enable me to get a used car & move towards independence

i get to keep my full benefits for 1 whole yr. even with a full-time job

if you ever need disability i do recommend getting a lawyer you may

be turned down the first time and at reconsideration but stick with it

nice good to hear you won. It would suck if you had spent that time and stuff and lost

yeah i think the ones responding ambivalently or disapprovingly don't

realize how debilitating paranoid schizophrenia can be and that i truly

couldn't work w/o great personal & professional risk these few years.

I have had my share of anxiety issues and paranoia, probably nothing near what you have experienced but the sheer scope of my issues which were minor in comparison kind of shows me how bad it really could be.

Sounds like it should be easy sailing from here Irari

i may lose my benefits if i'm still working full-time after a year but one

of the best parts of winning is that i'm more likely to win future cases

should i become really bad off again like i had been before this year.

so you got a lawyer to help argue you're so mental you need money for a car etc?

no offence, but everything about this concept is hard to comprehend. how do things work over there?

if any of you chucklefucks think that paranoid schizophrenia isn't disabling, go spend an hour at your local psychiatric ward and try to eavesdrop on a couple patient interviews.

are you serious or are you just being intentionally condescending?

I know a guy that's diagnosed with schizophrenia. A friend of a friend. It's really hard to have a conversation with him, plus he eats my fucking food every time he visits. Fucker.

the money is not specifically for a car, it's back pay for the years i was

disabled and didn't have enough money for food and shelter and so on.

since it's now my money, i decided to buy a used car, and the monthly

payments will go towards auto insurance, gas, food and anything else i

actually need. i can probably hold down a full-time job now though so i

am about to do training for collections and hope it leads to even better

opportunities down the road. the way it works over here is that if you're

disabled and can't work then you get a small amount of money to help

until your condition improves to the point that you don't need assistance.

on re-consideration, i realized you took every possible measure to not be condescending.

so what disability?

paranoid schizophrenia in remission with medication diagnosed in 04

That takes balls. I quit my cooking job because I wen through a period of clinical depression about 6 months ago. I feel there is a stigma about psychiatric problems. People either think you are weak minded or just making it up and acting like a baby. I stupidly told my boss the truth. I should have lied and said I had to play nurse to my grandmother or something cause now I think all my old co workers including my old boss think I'm a big baby weirdo lunatic.

i know what you mean... i hate confrontations and when i had to tell my

last employer why i was leaving i felt i should tell the truth but i begin to

wish i had also made something up... my voc rehab counselor told me to

claim it as a "family medical problem," because "you're in your family."

What kind of delusions and other symptoms have you had? I won't judge you. Others might though

i don't want to get too far into it but i still have aural hallucinations today

primarily consisting of bad words that i hear in my mind in some settings

they seem to be brought on by stress but once in a while i get visual ones

like the irises of someone's eyes in a photograph being a different colour

than they should be... also used to think i was god and invincible & so on.

grats irari.

living a life that is so foreign to those who have no concept of what you have to deal with must be difficult enough as it is, hope things continue to work out for you in the future.
