Swing music. And Michael Buble.

Michael Buble has just sold 45,000 tickets for a show in Ireland. In ten minutes.

45,000 pricks pretending to like swing music. It's shit. Just because Simon Cowell thought that Quinn kid was good a few years back is not a licence to like this stuff. 45,000 IT nerds trying hard to impress their girlfriends. Take drugs and listen to good music and be normal. Burn that fucking sports jacket too.

Why don't earthquakes strike in the right places?

Hm, I never expected a Buble thread here. But I've got to admit that I like the guy, and his music.

He's obviously been cast in the mold of an old school Rat Pack entertainer. And of course, he's nowhere near as good as Sinatra or Martin, but I respect his persona. It's much more viable and interesting to me than a rapper/boyband/singer-songwriter.

His songs are written for women, and why not, I think he's a pretty attractive guy and he's going to be reaping the rewards for decades.

Good luck to him I say. He's been working on his career and craft for over a decade (aged 34, it's rare for him to have only just become such a popular brand) and it seems that it's finally paid off.

I'd rather have a multi-million selling Buble than Timberlake, Bieber or James Morrison/Blunt any day.

I just think its harmless shit for people who wear Tommy Hilfiger and pretend to like rugby. Oh you like Michael Bublé too? I love him, and Dean Martin too. Do I seem intersting now?

Yes, it's all just a theory. But someday I will prove it all.

I can understand that there are massive douchebags who are suddenly lauding the guy, but if it gets them listening to real swing as a result then there isn't really a problem.

Besides, Robbie Williams has already trodden this ground in Britain when he released an album of swing covers. This stuff is marketed for women, and women over the age of 30 still go giddy for crooners and swing. Point in fact; the careers of Rod Stewart and Tom Jones.

Who is Bieber?

Bublé or Blunt? Hmmmm. Dutroux or Fritzl? Pol Pot or Idi Amin?

Anyway, maybe I shouldn't have had a go at Bublé. Heck if I could make a billion singing shit I'd be out there doing it. I think I despair more about the people who like this stuff and snap up 45,000 tickets in ten mins.

Not a fan of any of the new stadia around the place. They're all a bit soulless, I like crumbling old ground with 2 stands on each side, built in different eras, and a crumbling terrace at each end. Plus the naming thing is shit.
