Van Persie? Villa? Higuain? Drogba? Tevez? Mario Gomez scored 39 in 45 appearances last year (including 8 in the CL)! Rooney scored 16 in 40 (4 in CL). If you want to go by assists, Gomez: 7, Rooney: 13. Not a gulf worth making him the third best striker in the world. Rooney's agent is awesome. Link to comment
