And you don't do it very well. Less than an 100 year hegemony. I spose you could blame the acceleration of development. But i prefer to think that the british empire was superior.

question : as (descendants of) British persons, would you place Napoleon next to Hitler or Mussolini ?

I've never thought of him (Napoleon) as anything more than a military genius. Why would anyone place him next to Hitler or Mussolini?

Gadhafi recently put Napoleon, Hitler and Mussolini on the same level. I heard the same thing a couple times in Bristish cultural productions.

Edit; in France he's a hero, along with De Gaulle, and Louis XIV.

Huh... well, I'm across the pond. Most people here probably don't even know who Napoleon was.

But personally I've always liked Napoleon, for no reason I can pinpoint specifically.

i don't understand the point of american remakes. of anything. do we need to make them american so we can relate to it better? do people just hate reading subtitles? fuck us

really, how hard is it to enjoy the original/foreign version of something?

$$$. you guys are crazy if you really think that most americans will consistently tune into a show with subtitles as much as they would one without. making a stupid american version of any random good show would definitely be a more profitable route

The UK Inbetweeners movie is in cinemas this August. You may see me dancing like a prick in the 'party boat' scenes.

why would you require subtitles for a show that is broadcast in the english language?

i don't think he was talking about this show specifically

It's payback for you forcing this twat upon us (you have to agree some form of retribution is warranted here).

On a less-shitty note I'm glad to see they're making an in-betweeners movie, I quite liked show whilst Mrs. Dob and I were living in Ireland...

Don't bitch like it's some one-way street. I have seen adverts and UK programming and it's a fucking carbon copy of the shit we have. You import our shit as much as you export. The only thing more tiring than a loudmouth American is some European cunt who thinks their shit doesn't stink.

This. Well put, xxx.

Yeah, fair point to xxx, The Inbetweeners is a British version of American Pie. But in Britain it's much more profitable to produce a TV series, rather than a film.
