Lets get into track by track analysis starting with track 1. Whatcha thinks? Fantastic drum pattern to kick it all off, clsssuc melodies and that relentless pace i think we all love. I could listen to the first minute all day. Gorgeous.

Very good track. So good when all cuts out with the exception of the acid bass and drums. When all comes back in its so big! I rock out to 4001!

for reference:

"Track 1 — 4001

I was working on a visual representation of a large underwater structure that you could gradually start seeing bits of, but at no point would the whole thing be revealed. That image gave me the idea of a tidal wave of polyphony smashing over this submarine edifice. It was at this point that I realised I wanted to work in black and white, because the piece seemed so much more unreal and savage without colour gradations."

Before the release, I was obsessed with this song by watching the live youtubes over and over.

I was very happy to pop in the cd for the first time and find that song immediately. It's nice to know its name now.

I think it's his best song since Venus 17... maybe even since MIORN.

I love this track. It is stuck in my head all the time. All I have to do is look at the cd and I feel like I can hear the whole song playing.

I know ive been bitching about this a lot, but i do think it's in need of much more bass than is present on the cd. To me, it's practically a crying shame. Especially when the main melody returns with the crashing 4-on-the-floor drums.

That could have been severely massive.

I want so badly to feel that bass in my guts without those highs hurting my ears. It's a major tease.

My only other thought is: I think it is by far the best song on the album. I wish it came later in the album. To me, starting the album off with the strongest track leaves something to be desired throughout the duration of the rest of the album and MAY be exactly what is keeping me from enjoying the album as a whole more.

So...

I felt the same way at first about this being the strongest track but today i listened to it twice through and I find many great moments throughout

I remember my first listen of this track just last week when I got the album... started off pretty cool, but I was a bit weary about where it would go. When the beat drops out and those synths come in at about 1:30 it got my attention a little more - then it just started building up layers and by the end I was blown away! All-in-all, a killer opening track that sets the mood nicely for the rest of the album.

Definitely one of my favorite tracks on the first half!
