Miles Davis - Bitches Brew

There's a great (though somewhat crazy and more than a little aggressive) interview from 1969 with him here:

another good one if you haven't seen it

it's a blind test where they play stuff for Miles and he hates on it

I like his quote about Gilberto :)

"As for Gilberto, he could read a newspaper and sound good!"

And this one:

That's got to be Eric Dolphy - nobody else could sound that bad! The next time I see him I'm going to step on his foot.

haha, and this one. That one holds a bit of truth even today:

"Is that what the critics are digging? Them critics better stop having coffee. If there ain't nothing to listen to, they might as well admit it. Just to take something like that and say it's great, because there ain't nothing to listen to, that's like going out and getting a prostitute."

I think he actually is pretty funny even if very rude. But he might have some points.

with BB, I only listen to Spanish Key, Miles run the voodoo down (miles solo in the middle is amazing) and sanctuary.

I do not like the track pharoah dance, and partially BB.

I much prefer the On The corner sessions

jesus christ this is why I hate jazz so fucking much

sooooo pointless all that talk! who the fuck cares!!! GAHHHH at least be funny about it rather than just an asshole.

oh. Miles davis only spent 25 years making jazz, he shoudlnt have a opinion on a couple of artist in his time. You hate jazz because of those polls? lol

I find it hilarious his opinion with Dolphy. While I dont agree because I love some Dolphy stuff, I understand his point and share it for the most part. Miles would be scratching is head with most of music today and I would love to hear his opinion about the new autechre record or venetian snares for example hahahahah

Well, Miles was really into Stockhausen. Apparently he would bump it loud in his fancy cars. I bet he would be really interested in a lot of music today, but it seemed so arbitrary what he liked and disliked.
