very cool as always. id turn up the drums. its like they're hiding in the background and are covered up by the others sounds.

1) like

the mix is very warm and fuzzy but i wonder if the shaving-cream-soap-brush-cup wool could be notched down by just a notch. i mean, it sounds like its from a video tape from the 70s :) which is nice, but it almost distracts me from the very lovely composition.

Thanks folks :) Skibby you're spot on right, I agree - I just lack the mixing/mastering skills to realise the sound I want. To be honest when I do get it right, its by accident rather than design. I'm gonna keep chipping away at this one though, the melody feels like its got more potential for impact.

I like it , great chord sequence - very memorable and I love the acoustic drum sound (if it is lol) really enjoyed this one.

Cheers bud, yeah its one of logics acoustic kits with various tweaks. Just sorted out the live arrangement for it which I'll be busting out on Thursday in a city centre bandstand. Can't wait!

I actually like how set back the drums are. It gives the whole track a decidedly vintage wooden sound.. =/

Good track, I love it. Can I ask what you made that lead synth with? Love it

Thanks ;) I guess its a fine line between getting a natural acoustic/analogue sound and it turning to mush...

That synth's just logics standard polyphonic one, with tape wobble, compression and a stereo expander added. PM me your email I'll send you a logic project file with the synth and strip settings.

oh yeah, you've just hit it with that one dude :) enjoyed it alot, very lovely and remarkable.
for my taste the drums could have been a little bit louder but thats only my opinion ;)
all in all you've done a great job here, cant say anything else, which is good !

cheers

edit: the title fits very well

Really appreciated folks. I've since remastered it and toned down the bass/mids a lot, sidechaining the chords to the kick drum. Will post it soon. It does sound a lot punchier now while retaining the mushy wobbly goodness :)
