Acid 1.0

Okay, this is a weird one, I know. I was hoping to revive, clean up and shape up some of my very old tracks that I made way back with Acid 1.0. Does anyone know where a gentleman could buy a legitimate copy of this long defunct and sadly laid to rest software. I know that you can quite legally download version 2.0, but between the first and second versions they made enough changes to how they handled (and how I manipulated) sounds that most of my tracks do not work and sound awful and all over the place. I am hoping to put together an old Windows 98 machine if I can find a way to purchase a boxed copy from one of you good people.

Yep. I agree. I loved a particular function (that I used heavily and was sadly dropped in 2.0) where you easily slice a sample and then if you grabbed the slice with both mouse buttons you could essentially use the slice as a window moving the sample below left or right beneath the slice. Going to contact Sonic Foundry directly, though the app was sold to Sony, in the off chance someone has it sitting in an attic.

ha wow a win98 machine just for acid huh? that's dedication

i have an old track that had one sound i made in acid1.0 and have wondered what the easiest way to get that rendered so i could get it into something else would be

seems like a lot of effort to install win98 on something. and man, the idea of going back to win98 kinda gives me chills

Thanks for the replies. I must contact that eBay seller. I'm not sure if pH1 is version 1. I had seen the download for 1.0a but it comes down as version 6.0 or something.

Yep. It seems crazy to do it but I have some much loved old material from back then I would like to resurrect to play live. I think a complete rewrite/re-produce is in order. Thanks all.

Thanks, all. Acid in the bag and revisiting some long thought lost memories. I may start using this again. I have found no software before or since gives you such intricate and simple control over violently destroying audio samples. I love it.
