I remember being fairly impressed with a free beats collection that he dropped in 2009, which was a lot more interesting than his peers' stuff when loose, bedroom post-dilla beats were a dime a dozen. http://powellbeats.bandcamp.com/album/beatnicks-tape-02-up-my-alley I gave the 11-14 samples a listen and it sounds like he's moved on to the dance floor, but I'm digging the simplicity. However, seems like it’ll have some staying power for me, so this remains on my list. Good to hear the recommendations from others on this one. sun drugs Posted February 7, 2015 Share Posted February 7, 2015 Yeah been loving his output, was a great dj when i saw him too. high energy, good fun. really solid club tracks, they sound great loud. His label Diagonal are also one of the better things going around too, so many good artists on there and great stuff forthcoming.
