  1. LOL - no need - SYRO is probably my favourite Aphex Twin release since ICBYD. Hands down. It's that damn good.
  2. did you tell him it's "quite good"? I actually haven't told Richard what I think of SYRO yet!
  3. It's all those squiggly lines - really unprofessional.
  4. I honestly can't hear any noticeable differences between minipops 67 and the rest of the tracks... minipops is more bassy, I'll say that much.
  5. ReBirth for iPad is 10 bucks off - 4.99! itms://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rebirth-for-ipad/id401704148/?mt=8&at=11lGe2&ct=phweb
  6. Aye, true! Tomorrow will be an epic day - new Apple stuff, Destiny, new episode of Hunter x Hunter!
  7. And before anybody jumps the gun: I removed these as they are fake tracks - not because they are real, etc. No need for people to get their hopes up and waste their time. Plus, even if they were legit, we do not allow links to potential leaks/file sharing sites.
  8. That was posted a few pages ago (and answered what the dots meant)... do try and keep up, eh?
  9. It was inaccessible for me yesterday for about an hour after minipops came out, and that was just at 764 members at once (new record guys!). So, I kind of hope release day isn't any worse than yesterday because WATMM will be useless if that happens. I might talk to the hosting company and see about upping the ante on capacity...
  10. Now that XBONE has it (and frankly I'm surprised Sony didn't beat them to the punch on that as well), I'm sure Sony will follow suit shortly. CHIME SUPER DELUXE on ps3 had a PLAID track that formed as you progressed, only played the demo but remember it was pretty good http://www.chimegame.com/ I forgot about Chime! One of my favourite Plaid tracks too: Tender Hooks - I like the Chime version even better than the album version!
  11. that's so fucking future. so fucking idm. LOL, Why in the world would I do that - with so much new Aphex to listen to, including SYRO, why would I shut the site down now at one of it's many peaks? Not to mention new AE coming, Clark, and possibly some other surprises nobody would have seen coming - it's a great time to be a fan of electronic music! Despite the embargo being lifted, I am hesitant to give my opinion track-by-track, since I think it's better people experience it themselves first instead of colouring their expectations with what some journo says, let alone me (for whatever that's worth). I will say this though - anyone expecting 'groundbreaking' stuff from SYRO needs to wake up - most of this music is years old, and some of it heard before - I see SYRO as more of a 'thank you' to the loyal fans, as it seems he heard the fans' desire for some of his live material to be released properly, and he's gone and done it. I think if Richard released some of his more recent recent material first, it may not have been as 'comforting' as SYRO will ultimately be, and as a result might have the opposite effect - people thinking he might have lost it, etc. for going in such a new direction, depending on how 'accessible' (or not) his newer stuff is. The point is it's good music - and that's really the only point in the end.
  12. Yes, and we must respect copyright (even if YT is slow on the takedown). No YT links/embeds, thanks. That's what I'm hoping - let's not scupper things by posting links though!
  13. Erm, yes - that's highly against the rules. Sorry!
  14. I actually agree - it won't give you those vibes - those were a specific time and sounds like that had never been heard before. SYRO will give you new feelings, and looking back on it like you do those classics, you'll warmly remember the first time you heard these tracks too. I know I will. Hey Joyrex, could you define this "new feeling" with a few words? No need - you'll get a taste of this feeling... soon!

  16. If you use the excellent Tunein app on iOS (not sure about Android, but I am sure it is), BBC Radio 6 Music is on there as well.
  17. Here I open the SYRO thread and the latest post has a pair of norks staring back at me - I thought it was Windowlicker all over again!
  18. Was hoping to hear someone 100% new haha I'll take what I can get though Trust me, when you hear the track, it will be like something new.
  19. Kai is coming to Houston soon; I might have to go talk to him about that! Seriously? If you see something along the lines of a track description, just keep scrolling. Like it won't be OMG TRACK 5 SO GOOD. Also it's not like a track description starts with: Warning, this is a track description. But I knew it was utopian. Well, it's not unreasonable, but getting people to adhere to the rule... especially with so much SYROcitement™ going on...

  21. Being a big Lumines fan/player myself, I rarely play by the beat, and more by watching the line terminator to clear out huge swaths of cubes by setting up combos.
  22. You won't be disappointed.
  23. Nothing much stays exclusive these days - I bet a PC version of Bloodborne will eventually see the light of day...
  24. this looks pretty buttfucking awesome actually ! but what's with the 3 lps? so you have to run to your lp player to flip it every 25 minutes? lol can't wait for syro!! More likely flipping sides every 8-12 minutes and that's the 400$ box right?? what a fucking afx troll, no way there's gotta be more then one album there, it doesn't look a thing like the syro artwork i am confusyro You haven't seen the back side (of any version) yet, have you? From what I understand, it's been played for journos, so highly unlikely it will leak, even from the listening parties.
  25. Excellent Nintendo industrial design as always, and a nice nod to the past with the Super Famicom coloured buttons. The "C" button and the new triggers annoy me on first impression though - why not make dual analogue sticks? I know they're trying to go for a Gamecube-like control setup, but still...
