I think Amen Lare has chosen "Niger" as a country because it resembles a well known pejorative term for black people. Shameful.

Oh yeah? I know your type. That "All Cats Are Beautiful" motto under your name reads as a joke on recent black people's struggle against cops!

Another throw-under-a-busser, and to think of it i'm subscribed to your bandcamp!

I get called a sexist and yet none of you saints call this person out for being a racist... Fucking halirious

    Bunch of hypocrites.

Thats right it's 2020 and anyone can go into a kitchen and make sandwiches... Lianne doesn't even identify as a woman — nor did I mention he/she/?? was a woman so what are you on about?

    Get a grip

    Back to sign now kids.

I got a facepalm from splesh and I am racist towards Japanese: i believe they're better than other races, namely chin... oh sorry, this is no time, nor place

Oh yeah and this "person" you threw under the bus to save your ass (tho i was on your sexist side and gave you a burger) has a name... Amen Lare, it's written right there, you namist!

Edit: no page break on my watch!

  3. Soundcloud player became huge in signatures (represented earlier on this page), that's kinda annoying and i don't believe people will understand the error of their ways soon, so i'm willingly surrender to a bit of abuse of authority from the magnificent Site Administrator on this particular front, just a little correction for our otherwise beautiful democratic order!

Sean-kun:Orr End is simirar to a track corred Braderores from Exai. And it was the end session. Orr End is an expansion of some ideas from a track on Exai. Braderores. Kind of a speciar NTS version of that track. So the name is about, how it’s the end of Braderores.

    ロブ:終りのすべて、全部。
Rob-chan: And it’s orr of it.

  5. How about:

    music = speech - text

    Eat dat!

(music is a hyper polluted term, couldn't care less if it's accepted as such or not, same with art, same with poetry)

(like hey, i'm in Euro club *pumps fist* with Bach-oven, life's a success)

  6. tDR is well into beans lately, it seems from digesting their discogs page. Notice how only the top left is an ideal circle and that series goes back to 2015 (the collage is an online template i used for additional taste)

I have a question. I don't think it's really been asked or answered here. But with all this dislike for the new cover (and I get that it's not mind-blowing or very unique but I also don't have much against it), is there an Autechre LP or EP cover that you think is worse than the one for SIGN? I've never taken issue with the simple covers for Tri repetae or LP5, for example, but I understand that the absence of a shape can be less offensive than the presence of a shape you dislike. Tri repetae was a nice color and LP5 had a cool solid gray CD case with the Autechre text debossed, so that was unique. But what about elsq? Solid black circles and squares on a solid white background, arranged differently for the different volumes. What about Quaristice.Quadrange.ep.ae? A large gray square centered on solid black. Again, it comes back to "nothing" or something super basic being less offensive than something you actively dislike. But I'm curious...is there anything worse in their catalog?

Cool question, my (wo)man. First of, i'd argue the SIGN cover is still "super basic" but not in a good way this time around. I mean warmy colour is not enough, and the shapes are less wild than elseq, the contour stays the same in all beans, it's pretty strict in fact.

That said, worse ae covers to me: Tri Repetae, yeah. Anti, Anvil Vapre, Envane, Quadrange, L-event

I really don't appreciate that the new cover uses livesix design which was done way sharper on those posters (and if the album has nothing to do with live stuff it makes it even offensive)

  9. I think of roughly 7 years cycles (not adjusted to release lag). So it's something like this:

    1998-2005, the prime

2013-2020, the unexpected shadow prime, still has a chance to overlap

    1991-1997, very occasional constitutive brilliance

2006-2012, kinda slump, unpublished live sets seemed to take a priority to the point of rehashing some stuff on Quaristice, even Gescom became half-assed

I've been familiar with last.fm since that time but never made the site a habit.  Always preferred discogs for straight up information and my own catalog for listening.  That left last.fm without a purpose, to me at least.

I'm all for statistics.  Numbers, lists, percentages, graphs, spreadsheets, all fun stuff.  Scrobble?  Not a clue.  As made up words go, it's just odd.  As my wife commented when I asked her, "It sounds like boogers".

You have a wife, we have a scrobble. Life's fair

Which previous ae album sucked?  Not, 'it sucked at first but then it clicked', but actually sucked for all time?

    So, that.

    great, an ambient album

You forgot the liquid-limbed swag, tendons and muscle, and let's not forget shapeshifting synthesis growing semblances of glowing hair and teeth and skin. So, not ambient.
