  1. dank schön (I got nothin to contribute anymore lol)
  2. The longer this shutdown goes on, the more pressure there should be to ramp up the collusion investigation. At what point does it get so bad that it's time to drop the fuckin hammer? Whatever happens, I don't think this presidency will end well for you-know-who.
  3. I figure it's like a normal dream but you're in Japan? With lots of anime characters floating around and weird but delicious food everywhere. And used panties vending machines dotted around. Nah, nunna dat. The first dream was more like an alternate Tokyo with a bunch of albino rats running around inside some lavish enclosed gazebo-type area that looked to be an often-used staging area for weddings, before wandering outside on the street with pedestrians largely dressed in white and giving me bewildered reactions. It was green and colorful, but strangely devoid of cars and skyscrapers. Like some annual festival of some kind was taking place but it was unclear what kind. In the second dream all I remember was wandering haphazardly into some makeshift auditorium made of concrete but was enclosed in a circus tent. And there were a bunch of half-naked Japanese dudes who covered themselves in mud. They were all kinda burly, but not big enough to be sumo wrestlers. Seemed to be some kind of sporting event.
  4. The first two Metro games are definitely linear, no question about it - albeit with superior graphics. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. may be aged and janky by comparison, but it still grants you vastly more freedom in the way of exploration. Plus there's a shit ton of mods for it. Probably worth noting that both game series are based on novels. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was based on the 1971 sci-fi novel Roadside Picnic by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky (and the 1979 film Stalker by Andrei Tarkovsky), whereas the original Metro 2033 novel by Dmitry Glukhovsky was published in its native Russia in 2005. I've seen the first half of the Stalker film years ago, but I still ought to read these novels at some point. Anyway, with Metro Exodus less than a month away, you have the best of both worlds. Open world AND stellar graphics. And if S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is for sure happening in 2021, the developers will surely be taking notes. (also looking forward to Atomic Heart later this year, which seems to be a melding of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Bioshock elements)
  5. Damn, I got Tilapia in my head just from reading this thread. As an EP it's the perfect bridge between Chiastic Slide and LP5. Just good shit all around. I think the remix of that Mari Hamada track was from this time period as well. Maybe even the same gear was used.
  6. Sorry to bum you guys out. But I'm sure things will improve down the road. I think there's increasing awareness and call to transition to renewable energy. But like I said certain demagogues in the world are currently standing in the way, in my own country included. Speaking of countries, I had Japan dreams two days in a row, yet I haven't been in over a decade. Wonder what that means.
  7. I can see where you're coming from Squee, being that sound design is your line of work if I'm not mistaken. Personally I feel optimistic because this is a type of game environment completely new to the series. And there was another review in which the guy claimed to put in 4 hours of gameplay and his impressions were positive all around. And I need something to look forward to in times like these.
  8. Looks like Metro Exodus will let you explore desert environs. Maybe it'll take place not only in Russia, but in Mongolia as well?
  9. Pretty sure Jesus was a hippie tho...not that these evangelical boomers and white nationalist incel goblins would ever understand.
  10. That message won't ever get through their heads. They'll just pull the same shit they did with Nike and Keurig, and be stupid enough to buy their products just to destroy them by what they think is a "boycott" The fact that it's controversial at all is making me question my faith in humanity. This brainless outrage was never an issue with GI Joe PSAs.
  11. Every year now I feel more apprehensive than the last about the future of this planet. Granted I've always had anxiety issues, but increasing reports from scientists that it may be too late to reverse climate change this century, at the same time certain world leaders are unwilling to make compromise for the greater good, aren't reassuring.
  12. Oh, right. Fbx. Fun fact: -40 is the one temperature at which C and F are interchangeable.
  13. This is basically Steamed Hams at the highest echelons. And that Lincoln facepalm is perfect. Too perfect. In fact, I wonder if it wasn't P-shopped.
  14. I wonder if this "national emergency" is gonna happen. Which in GOP terms is throwing a shit fit for not getting what they want. Donnie had 2 years to get funding for his fuckin wall while Congress was under Republican majority and he dropped the ball. Or should I say club-punted it who knows how many times at Mar-A-Lago. Why wait til now to demand funding?
  15. Philtrum. My entire jaw area gets that lingering smell for hours after I eat anything cheesy, greasy, or buttery until I wash it. Bugs the hell out of me.
  16. Somebody's dog on the floor or two below me has been barking and howling for the last hour. Good thing I have new headphones.
  17. SAW II is arguably his best, or at least most refined, LP. But obviously opinions can vary vastly, given the wide array of his releases and side projects over the last three decades.
  18. As long as we end this shutdown soon - hopefully without Pelosi's House giving into Trump's wall demands - then I think we can hold out til the big election next year. But this already just set the record as the longest government shutdown in US history. Of course Mitch McTurtle being the master obstructionist that he is and kissing Trump's ass til his lips are brown isn't helping matters.
  19. This was me starting literally 20 years ago, right after I heard Ae's EP7. Discovering Chiastic Slide the following year only solidified that...not to pit the two electronic music titans against one another. I think 1997 was the year Aphex really became known outside the UK, with the Come To Daddy music vid blowing up on MTV. I still have respect for RDJ and his reputation to this day is well earned. I just don't feel the same fanboyism that I did in my early teens. (Spillage of AFX discussion into GenBan ensues)
  20. I think I was in 7th grade when that shit was all over the news. Now it's staple deflection material for the MAGA camp when confronted with all the shit Trump gets away with.
