  1. I can't find Mike P.'s description, do you have a link? Thanks!
  2. They are making sure the files sound the best they could. I wouldn't mind a bit of audio trickey from rdj. There are so many tools nowadays.
  3. Remastering it could also make this re-release of AB5 unique and different from any other rip.
  4. The way I see it, the longer it takes to get our downloads, the more chances we have to get bonus stuff. When you have 10 000 tracks to pick from, it may take a little while to decide which ones to release. :)
  5. Same here! Some of his tracks back then were so warm and fuzzy.
  6. I wish the milkman would deliver tracks similar to Polygon Window's UT1-Dot together with CWLP.
  7. I think SAW2 is good, but I don't think it's accurate to say he's a pioneer in ambient music compared to Eno or Pete Namlook. Even then, I'm hesitant to even mention them since I'm not an ambient head. It's probably fair to say that Aphex is more popular than Namlook, but Namlook has a huge discography of all kinds of ambient music. Even Eno has more ambient albums released if we're using the strict definition of ambient. Sorry for slowing the momentum here. Anyway, I think it's fair to say that I'm really fucking excited that we're days away from hearing CAT023! Well, in my opinion, SAW2 goes further than these artists. Eno and Namlook made ambient music for the 70's and the 80's. But contemporary ambient/noise has nothing to do with the 70's and 80's. On the other hand, what Aphex was doing is closer to what a label like Touch has been promoting for the last decade. Aphex has said numerous times that he loves noise music, such as Merzbow et all. I wouldn't be surprised if his ambient/experimental compositions have integrated noise. Gwely Mernans on Drukqs examplifies that his approach to ambient has evolved quite a lot over the years.
  8. SAW2 has been on repeat today. Who knows, there's perhaps at least one ambient track on CWLP. Again, imagine the amount of ambient stuff he's been composing since then. The funniest part is that Aphex is completely unknown to most of the ambient/noise/experimental scenes, where he should be considered one of the pioneers with SAW2.
  9. Some people actually think that 16$ is a lot of money for an unreleased AXF album with potential bonus stuff? I don't get it. 16$ is two or three visits to a Starbucks. It's 5 metro tickets in Montreal. Come on you slags!
  10. Got the same feeling, though I'd bet on one or two minor offbeat gems on this record. Out of three songs that have surfaced, none do much for me. Muttley seems like a cool novelty throwback rave song, but something you'd move on from after listening to it two or three times. Reading Mike P's tracks descriptions did wet my appetite, but he is in many ways a hype-man and not to be trusted seriously. Aphex wasn't very strong with song structure in his early years, and I doubt anything on the CW LP has a level of originality and sophistication that would be worthy of our collective attention if it weren't for the absence of new released works from Richard. Hope I'm way off-track for those eagerly waiting their download vouchers. I see your point. I think it's an album for those of us who've been there since the 90's. Back then, what Aphex was doing, despite his lack of "song structure" as you say, went beyond what a song was supposed to be. More than original, it was revolutionary. It's impossible to see it that way in 2014. So I guess it's a very nostalgic pleasure we'll be getting from this unreleased album. A trip back in time. If you're not that excited, well, it's not an album for you! No big deal.
  11. It's taking a bit longer because Aphex really wanted to make sure that the mastering of the CWLP tracks is top notch. And of course, mastering MFM is also a bit more complex than what was initially planned.
  12. Nothing for me yet! Nothing on the Kickstarter page as well...
  13. Be careful with that. Aphex might sneak into your room and cut your cock off, stuff it in his mouth, and chew it up with his little pearlies.
  14. Oh yes it is, but this special occasion is not "always" happening.
  15. My stereo system, headphones and listening room are ready...
  16. Now listening to Bradley Strider, Pac-Man, On and GAK in preparation for the big day. For years I had given up the hope to get a new afx and now it's happening so I feel like listening to all his before-1995 material. It's a special weekend to say the least!
