  1. I see that I have a fanboy. :) Sorry buddy if I have hurt you in any way, now let's focus on the positive side of life and embrace in lush friendliness. A new album is coming our way and we'll both love it the same. :)
  2. me... Classics (remastered 2008) is on right now, another example of those early AFX golden years...
  3. His setup from 1993, just about the time he was still in his Polygon, Caustic Windows period... We need more!
  4. Prepare for so many bonus tracks it will take months to become familiar with half of them.
  5. It was an interesting era for him, 1985-1995. So many different styles being explored and invented. Knowing that he releases music sometimes years after making it, some Caustic tracks might be very old.
  6. Who has also been listening to their Caustic Window Compilation album to get in the mood? http://www.discogs.com/Caustic-Window-Compilation/release/296
  7. Haven't been excited like this for an album in a loonnng time...
  8. LOL I hope you're right, in this case, let me know how good the music is!
  9. Did everyone else receive an e-mail? Nothing for me yet.
  10. Sorry man, I will step out of this argument, but artists for me are sacred and they deserve every bit of money that is raised in their name. That's my only point. Sorry if I disturbed or disappointed you. I'm not that bad of a person. :) Just asking the unpleasant but logical questions here. I respect you all and charities are great. But sadly, Aphex is not a charity.
  11. LOL. What is the logical link between struggling to make the world a better place and experimental, electronic musical art made by a total loner? It is not a function of the artist to have to make the world better and fairer. And as far as I know, Aphex has never expressed the desire to do so, which strenghthens my point.
  12. Ok thanks for the clarification. But still, what did this charity do to deserve money that was raised on behalf of Richard's music? The only reason for this pile of cash is Richard's music. I'm sure you see my point. And by the way, I have nothing against charities. Just wondering out loud.
  13. Yesterday, in the shower, I came up with this logical argument: 1. What did we pay for, when we accepted to give 16$? Answer: For a Caustic Window album. 2. Who made this Caustic Window album that we are paying for? Answer: Richard D. James. 3. Who is the legal owner (copyright) of the music? Answer: Richard D. James. 4. Who is organizing the digitalization and distribution of it? Answer: Rephlex/Richard D. James. 5. Who should get the money that was raised in the name of this album? Obvious answer: Richard D. James. We paid for an album but none of the money we paid will go to the artist who made the album? Such a weird logic, coming from the underground. Imagine that you made an album 15 years ago and it suddenly comes out of the blue and some charities are making thousands of dollars out of your product. Personally, I would feel a bit strange about it.
  14. Haha I agree with you, no worries. When they're calling the effect of a cable euphoric or danceable, we are right in the realm of imagination. It's immeasurable anyway, so how could they turn it into a scientific argument? You're right.
  15. Interesting. They're like the shamans of egineered electricity. Some are electricity atheists, electricity sceptics, others believe that electricity is alive and spiritually inclined and even conscious of what you're doing with it. Many of the electronic music artists I've been in touch with have their own favorite cables and hardware and most of the time, for unverifiable reasons. The relationship between artist and electricity currents and hardware and software is quite hard to define, I think. Does it mean it's all bullshit? I'm not sure.
  16. Sorry stupid question, it was determined to be closed on 31th of may. My mistake.
  17. I know it's not the right place, but why is the charity thread closed?
  18. 300 Caustic Window unreleased songs pls, on a single USB driver with a t-shirt, rolling paper and the promise of doing this every year for the next 10 years.
  19. "Oh and by the way, we have decided to include more unreleased tracks from that Caustic Window, Polygon Window era, with tons of bonus material, remastered for the occasion." I have a dream...
  20. Of course this will be leaked, most probably before most of us receive their downloading link by e-mail or very shortly after.
  21. Hehe I'm not sure about the lines, but he definitely seems to be smoking weed 24h a day, 7 days a week, which is rare for cokeheads. It would be cool to have a 1 hour video interview with Luke, like the ones that the Red Bull Academy did with Wolfgang Voigt, Mike Paradinas, Nile Rodgers... In these short snippets (like this one), we see fragments of Luke going from one idea to the other all the time, so we never really get the full picture of how he thinks. He must have a lot to say about the 90's.
  22. I have no idea if it's been posted already, but I just found this on YouTube. Wagon Christ interview about John Peel. Luke is starting to look older. :)
  23. Well at least you only smoked a bucket bong and didn't take longer-lasting psychoactive molecules, you might have freaked out even more. I think Tomorrow's Harvest is quite psychedelics-friendly in many ways. Yours is one of the ways it is. It might seem like an easy-going album on the surface but there seems to be darker elements at play. You seem to have experienced these elements more than most people here.
