i mean yeah, china fucked up real bad and we need to hold their shitty government and the local authorities accountable for endangering lives and killing thousands, maybe millions.

but i don't see anything good coming from calling it the wuhan / chinese virus. like, how is this a constructive solution? everyone knows where it's from. it seems so childish and obviously designed to boost trump's support rather than actually help people get better.

Not a chance. China is the new crowned superpower - both hard, soft and everything in-between.

Criticize all you like: Wuhan official secrecy and chasing down whistle blowers, their delay was minimal...MINIMAL, compared to the sheer arrogance and complacency of the U.S and U.K etc. To locate the blame with these officials is to ignore the inevitability of this pandemic and the total lack of institutional compassion and preparedness built into market run societies. We have been literally running towards global catastrophe for decades - and as we all know, climate change will make covid19 look like a broken nail.

We start talking about China as the center of responsibility and we are just buying the distractions of those responsible for such a devastatingly inadequate state of preparation and response. It's a racist trope. That is all.

  2. Biden looking good in general polls but he's going to get crushed under any scrutiny.

Trump transcends scrutiny as he just doesn't care - other than perhaps when Covid19 blows up and he's finally shooting 1000s of people on Broadway in broad daylight.

So...Biden will lose if Trump can weather this storm.

Biden will win if Trump has finally met his match.

Both are terrible. Demographically the left is ascendant and the establishment Dems life is soon to be over.

i think the internet and smart phones theoretically should play a big role here, and time moving on resulting in old people dying and no longer voting.  mainstream media is so biased, so corrupt, that if you sit and watch it each moment, almost every paragraph they say something blatantly biased in favor of corporate dem interests.  it's disgusting to watch.  a transition to decentralized media distribution would be good.  but with money backing them, corporate interests can even infiltrate that.

one interesting thing to note is that in social circles only in-group memes can't be effectively appropriated unless they're actually understood contextually, so political memeification may be helping in filtering out outside interests.  that's just me talking shit though.

Vs Bloomberg money behind Biden. Not a chance.

there's only so much you can do as one individual congressperson when you're opposed by so many conservatives and liberal reactionaries.  the best way for him to redirect the US in the correct direction is through heavy use of executive orders and being an advocate on the ground for unions and workers

Effective organising on the ground vs media machine and money is a tough battle.

  5. Biden will lose to Trump. His record is terrible. He can barely string a sentence together.

The debates will be a car crash of viral fuck ups on both sides. But that's Trumps whole thing so it's an asset for him.

In demographic terms its only a matter time until a left candidate wins.

Bernie like Corbyn has the entire establishment against him. Thats pretty hard to deny. Let's just hope if Biden loses, the dems finally actually have to grow both economically and in foreign policy and not just in terms of identity politics.

If Warren chooses to support Sanders the race is still on.

Warren gets a lot of shit for that but it's completely different than Bloomberg. Warren was one of those old school fiscal conservative, social liberal Rockefeller Republican who were literally on the same page as centrist Dems like Biden. She firmly switched in 1995 and that is 24 years ago. My bigger hang up is she's waffled on her anti-Wall Street and her policy rhetoric doesn't have the same teeth that they did a few years ago. She should have run in 2016 as many pleaded her too, including Bernie.

Bloomberg on the other hand is literally Trump with liberal optics and signalling. For every reasonable, conflicted conservative who will be swayed from Trump in a hypothetical match-up there are going to be multiple independents turned off by the fact that Bloombergs's an elitist who wants to tax Big Gulps. Even though it's 100% horseshit Trump maintains a base because he projects the overt impression of unpretentious, kitsch, and unsophisticated wealth. His kids literally parade themselves around as nightmare-ish right-wing stereotypes: faux macho men who like to hunt, punch down, and play with big trucks and boats. Similar to how Obama was this vague canvas for people to project their own identity onto and relate with Trump is the same but in ways that are delusional and absurd to those outside of his base. We see a cartoon-ish corrupt trust fund man-child mogul, his followers see themselves had they won the lottery or succeeded on shark tank. I hate to admit this but he's more likeable than Bloomberg on the purely surface level, even if both are despicable and Trump more of an overt fascist pig. This surreal clip reminded me of that, everyone in it is godawful, but of them all Trump seems the more cartoonish acceptable godawful. That's how he got in office in the first place.

Indeed not the same. Imagine Trump vs. Bloomberg.

Hmm, that is a bit of a damning review though isn't it?

Maybe yea.... I mean look at those 303 lines, you know he probably played some of this via midi bass, those breaks are tight, nice choppage, don't you know hes a real musician musician and not some youtube ableton tutorial edm guy, crazy that he used his old 90s gear for this one etc etc nobody but watmm cares

  8. Someone just asked me for music recommendations and I said BUAH...

Crossed my mind that its really only idm nerds that would appreciate the album given knowledge of his career and the whole idm context / mythology

I think it's just MIDI. Which would be pretty impressive, a lot of the synth programming sounds like live instrumentation, plus all the stuttery 909 edits and similar things. It's a very dense record, took me a few listens to get a proper feel for it, but I'm really loving it. Sounds like a mix between Damogen and Big Loada.

Yea dense. Very instrumentation. Basically a musician and not someone editing the shit out of sounds. He's transcended and become mr free jazz idm.

First two tracks are my favorite. Really nice emo chords.
