Saw Kode9 last night in Chicago. Awesome set. Played all the new Hyperdub 12"'s and a ton on unreleased stuff from himself and Burial. Setlist went something like this from what I can remember (has a lot of holes):
9 Samurai
Quarta 330 remix
Skeng
Please
Spliff Dub (Rustie Remix)
Money Honey
Find My Way
Need You
Backward
Poison Dart
old/unreleased Kode9/Burial/lots of stuff I've never heard
2D
Reminissin'
Broken Heart (Martyn's DCM Remix)
Den Of Drumz
Bury Da Bwoy
Please/Superman
I put up a playlist up at The Music Lobby of some of the new dubstep tracks. Let me know what you think. Just hover over the words "TML Mixtape" off the to the right and wait a few seconds for it to load.
Yes, that's the same Geiom. He also released an album on City Centre Offices as Kamal Joory. I like Island Noise. It's like turn of the millenium electronic music meets dubstep. Still like "Feel So Bad" better than anything on the album though.
Can someone explain why the lyrics for "Etched Headplate" contain "archangel, sent from the heavens up above" and the track "Archangel" has nothing to do with angels at all? Is the track list on the back of the CD just wrong, because the leak was the same way?
Forgot to mention the samples of 21 Grams and Ghost Dog. I'm more interested in the vocal samples though.
he sampled "the mothman prophecies" on the last track on the burial album. where does he sample "21 grams"? I haven't seen that movie.
The intro to the album. That's Benicio speaking.
Just hoping for a track as good as "Nite Train" or "Unite".
BTW, has anyone broken down the sampes he uses? I know he samples Michael Jackson on "Nite Train" and Christina Aguilera on "Ghost Hardware".
Certainly one of the best songs to come out of the sound so far. I put it up there with Pinch's "Qawwali".
I also really love the Burial track "Nite Train". Wish it was on the album.
