  1. Thx Squee, it's a bit good. They discontinued the NT, right? Keep yours close!
  2. Opportunity arose to obtain an Analogue Super NT, so... This is some seriously boutique hardware. I've never seen SNES games look so crisp and sound so good. Tons of visual/scaling options. Plays all regions. Heck, it even supports the Super GameBoy cart and all native hardware (controllers, arcade sticks... SNES mouse, lol). And a randomised boot sequence with audio by Squarepusher? Sure, why not. Analogue are putting out a Megadrive equivalent next year. Thankfully for my wallet, I don't have quite the nostalgic affection for that era of Sega that I have for the SNES....
  3. Is there much difference from the 3D version on 3DS? The wizards at M2 coded in some fancy widescreen options. Additional music from other Out Runs that weren't in the 3DS version. 60FPS. Pocket change for as close as it gets to arcade perfect.
  4. Which version of Rifts tho... Although the Mexican Summer re-release adds more trax, the original Not Not Fun release has the 'correct' track order for me, at least for reasons of associated nostalgia from listening to it lots back when it first came out.
  5. SpongeBob Squarepants creator Stephen Hillenburg dies at 57
  6. That one reminds me of Top Gear (SNES) or Lotus Espirit (Amiga). I must have missed that it was coming to Switch, looks like it's out soon as well. Good time for old skool arcade racers!
  7. Bernardo Bertolucci, the multi-award-winning Italian director of Last Tango in Paris, The Last Emperor and The Dreamers, has died at the age of 77 after a battle with cancer, his publicist confirmed. He had been confined to a wheelchair for over a decade, after surgery on a herniated disc in 2003 was unsuccessful, and rendered him unable to walk. In a film-making career that stretched back to the early 60s, Bertolucci became a key figure of the extraordinary Italian new wave (alongside, and the equal of, Antonioni, Fellini, and Pasolini) but – uniquely – made a successful transition to large-scale Hollywood film-making with 1987’s The Last Emperor, which won nine Oscars, including best picture and best director for Bertolucci. 8. Out Run on Switch releases Nov 29 (this week!) on the Japanese eshop. Other regions are '2019'. This will be the most comprehensive home conversion of Out Run ever, and short of the authenticity of playing on a full blown '86 deluxe cabinet, it surpasses it on paper with extra modes, music, etc. Can't wait! "The Nintendo Switch SEGA Ages version will run in 60fps and support widescreen. The new songs added to the Nintendo 3DS version, ‘Cruising Line’ and ‘Camino a Mi Amor’, will be included as well. Furthermore, ‘Step on Beat’ from the Mega Drive version, ‘Radiation’ from Out Run 2 SP, and more will be included in a rearranged format that makes them sound like a track from the original game. The game will support gyro controls that let you play the game in a manner similar to how the arcade game played. The tuning up feature from the 3DS version will be included in this version as well. You can customize cornering, engine, tire, and bumper parts to change your car’s specs."
  9. last known image of a song (ryuichi sakamoto rework) is now available (spotify, preorder download on blerp, etc.)
  10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITwoKaWLX_w Shame the end product isn't as good as this ad. Stick with it, it's fun
  11. M2 recently announced they are bringing ESP Ra.De. - an absolute shmup grail by CAVE which never saw a single port in 20 years from the original arcade release - to their SHOT TRIGGERS series (which has mostly seen releases on PS4 with a couple on Xbox One). They have been experimenting with the Switch, so there's some rumblings that good things might happen there, but honestly I'll wager this one will be on PS4 first. Long thought to be lost in licensing hell, it's nothing short of a minor miracle it's getting a home console release. Can't wait.
  12. Not had a chance to set up the VR yet, might not be until the weekend but fingers crossed for sooner. Will give some impressions here after my first trip to Virtual Tetris land Welcome to the Switcheroo! You're in for a treat with Mario Odyssey, play it together with them kids and you'll all have a blast. They beat Let's Go already?! That's some dedication. I snagged a decent Black Friday deal on it (Pikachu version, thanks for the voucher Amazon Germany). Fancied a comfy game to chill with, but mostly to balance out all the wild west murderin' over in Red Dead...
  13. Sweet deal! Speaking of which, I just nabbed Detroit: Become Human at the supermarket for 12 squids. Worth it for the David Cage lulz alone. Lot of 'big' 2018 games dropping in price due to Black Friday shenanigans, keep yr eyes peeled...
  14. 444 videos in playlist 44th Anniversary of the Arecibo Message being broadcast is today
