  1. I remember digital vinyls being a xlt thing. But that was a long time ago. Wouldn’t surprise me if the use of digital vinyls popped up in multiple places around that time. As digitals really became a thing. Maybe the Rephlex shop coined the term .

I bet 97% of people who have it on vinyl listen to it via the YouTube rip. Maybe 93%. Possibly 92.5%. But no less than that.

I'd think most would have also bought the digitals back in the day. When the rephlex shop was up and running. That was around 2009 I'm guessing.

  3. I always tend to return to this talk by Stephen Schneider in discussions like these. As he does a great deal explaining all the complexities of climate science and its results. The arguments for and against.

The talk is ancient at this point (13 years old!). But in terms of content and the various arguments addressed still relevant, imo. Whether that is a good thing or bad, I'll leave to you. Personally, I think its strength is in explaining the Bayesian reasoning behind what he calls systems science. This is especially relevant for the people criticizing climate science because of its lack of "falsification".

It's also quite humbling in the sense that as a viewer it's obvious I don't have the expertise or experience to really have an argument on climate science.

Also note the amount of "we don't know"s. And the amount of risk management.

BTW, Stephen Schneider also played a key role in the early IPCC reports. (he died in 2010)

Tracklist based off of times from this video
    0:39:35 "Bliss 2d g-major" (Unreleased AFX)

where did the title of this track came from? All i could find was this 2 yr old video on the tube with the title. It wasnt on any soundcloud dump..was it?

  5. A bit of amusement. A conversation (discussion?) between a psychiatrist, David Pakman, and a proud Trump supporter.

It's an interesting thought experiment in and of itself. But yeah, it's probably going to be exactly what you'd expect. A liberal on a high horse. And a conservative making an idiot of himself. At the end of it, I'm starting to like neither. Or gain a bit more appreciation for the conservative for knowing he's behaving like a jackass. Or rather, himself. He just doesn't care.

But I haven't watched the whole thing yet. It's moving in that direction very fast though.

The lady that did the other AELIVE edits has done them for 22.  Looking forward to giving them a listen for sure.

Thanks! I guess I missed those other edits. Currently downloading, but if someone cares to comment on what I can expect, I'm all ears. I mean, does she copy paste different parts from different sets into tracks? Or just one long file? Seems like the file could be chopped into individual tracks. And I guess she just named the tracks herself?

Thanks for reconnecting me with that one; it's a really lovely track.  Mostly I had focused on just the plain "untitled" track which sounds like a direct outtake from Drukqs.  Hard to imagine that being anyone else.  I think this is absolutely a Drukqs-quality track and I'd love to get a high quality, mastered version.

I'm sorry, but this doesn't sound like Richie to me. Someone inspired by Drukqs made that, I guess. But I don't hear the signature aphexness. And I'm afraid it's not in the same league either.

It's only an opinion. Please, don't be mad. ?

There's an interesting phenomenon called the "Wagner Gap" where, if you trawl through the multitude of reddit moron accounts, you'll find that lots of them went dark for a couple of days during the Wagner coup attempt. Their paymasters weren't sure who to back, so they weren't being given any orders about what to post, so they just stopped. Good evidence that they were troll farm accounts

Remember kids, it only takes a couple million $ to pay for a giant online social media propaganda machine.

If qu1 and th1 are tracks and we got Quoth already, one might think there is a o1 track somewhere in between. just thinking

    i like your thinking! ?

Got a suspicion Richie has a bunch of tracks very dear to him. Tracks which he doesn't want to put out in public without a very good reason. Qu1 is a good example, I think. Beautiful track. Never officially released. Don't know how old it is. Perhaps the link to quoth is a clue. He put it up on his soundcloud to honour the passing of his farther. If that was an old track, which I think it is, he must have felt strong about not putting it on a release earlier.

Of course, none of this makes sense if he made it recently. ?‍♂️

  11. Hard to understand why people don't think these are good aphex tunes. And with people, I mean people who like aphex tunes in general. It's quality stuff. Very intricate to my ears.

btw, Has needledrop done a review already?

Didn't Sabine just argue we don't know because our models arent good enough to make reliable predictions? And that it's better to avoid it to happen anyways...
