  1. dear Watmm, Me and my gf are going to visit London for the last week of January. it's our first visit, and it's going to be a low budget trip, so nothing fancy here. I've ran a search through Watmm since there were threads about it already. With your help I've managed to compile this preliminary list of things to do and see: - go to record shops (thanks to you guys I know there's a street in Soho which has some good shops, but I didn't catch its name) - she likes second-hand clothes, so I guess she will find something for her in Camden, right? - Natural History Museum, Tate modern, Victoria & Albert museum - We both like art and photography, are there any interesting galleries or curating shops where you can see some more 'independent art' (but without hipsters)? - We love beer and places you can hear live jammin' music (any krautrockers still alive?) like jazz, electronic/downtempo/idm stuff - I don't go clubbing as much as I used to, but since I'm there, I might as well go and see a show or two...three.... I'm sure there are some free-of-charge squat/basement clubs where you can dance your ass off? (nothing like Fabric/Ministry of Sound stuff) - We will stay in Astor Hostel on Montague street, are there any cheap and good restaurants in St. Pancras area? I know here are some londoners who enjoy this wonderful city. The only thing is that I feel what I want to experience there but I can't put it in words. I'm on some sort of creative inspiration search. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated, so thank you in advance:)

  4. this is from a couple of days ago. Late afternoon ascent on 1758m high pass in the Alps. We spotted a herd of wild capricorns. Just bellow the pass there is a rocky threshold on which a herd of 4 younglings and two females climbed onto the pass from the other side. Me and my girlfriend surprised them as we arrived on the pass at the same time as the herd, and the capricorns allowed us to get pretty close. The adult male capricorn in the picture was idling on a remote spot, higher up.

    Ghosts

true story: i was staying at my dad's place in the city overnight. before i went to bed after being at some party (mildly wasted) i smoked a reefer. while doing that i was standing in the balcony, overlooking the courtyards. i saw a bat flying near and suddenly i thought i heard his ultrasound bursts. it could be just me being smoked-out, but i can clearly remember the 'sound'. it wasn't even like a sound, but rather a sonic burst, just like when you hear dolphins doing those 'clicky' sounds. i felt it like a very intense pulse of high-frequencies, like an energy, almost like i'd be in an airplane and we'd suddenly lost a lot of height, and gained it again. instantly. not something i'm used to feel when i 'hear' things...not exactly a ghost story, but to this day i can't quite explain what happened that night...
  9. read 'In Search of the Miraculous' by P D Ouspensky, the book that Gurdjieff wanted to write but wasn't as a good of a writer as P D, so he had him write it for him..... I might, thanks. I'm still in search for some scripts called The Lecture on Symbolism by the same author. That piece holds quite interesting points on symbolism between the work of man through history and his supposed spiritual origins. And more. I must get my hands on this somehow...
  10. I have just finished Tagore's Gora. I love the way he describes characters and their thoughts, but the story is so involved with religion. Some ideological squabbles slightly bored me... I bought Beelzebub's tales to his grandson one year ago. It was recommended to me after a very inspiring talk I've had with a foreign actor. This massive chunk is like squeezing the world into a cardboard box. Very promising though, some stuff is just amazing and that's what keeps me on dwelling through.
  11. i'm reading Rabindranath Tagore, and studying G.I. Gurdjieff. Anyone familiar with?
  12. i can't imagine how a reprise to Remote Viewer would sound. I'd so love to hear that.
  13. other tracks that sounded well like fucking a virgin: iv vv iv vv viii parhelic triangle vi scose poise (he liked this one the most) augmatic disport many stuff from quaristice really comes to life (and it does feel like being somewhat aquatic ;): phylopn, perlence range3, wnsn, theswere,... io(mons) was fucking amazing, but the guy refused to leave it play. he said it was way too much for him to bear and we had to finish the session. although he really liked autechre and considered them being 'interesting'. and despite his newly built acoustics he still insisted on listening them on his hi-fi again. little irony? i think audiophiles are just insane, lol.
  14. ever since i heard ae i've had a wish that i could be able to hear them on defined and professional sound system. i recently had a chance to hear some of the autechre material on really proper badass superb acoustics. a guy that builds his own speakers, about 2.6 m high, spent almost ten years completing the design and collecting the parts. all custom and defined and whatnot...anyway... what amazed me the most was recury. i always thought of it as one of my favourites, but i've never realized how powerful is its composition. as the first beats came in i already felt like i'm submerged into it. it completely got my attention. then the sprays and showers of some tiny metal pieces that felt like being thrown on some super-sensitive surface that acted like a microphone. razoring through ears but not unpleasant. the composition is fluid and slowly emerges into a physical, vast environment that completely overwhelmed my state-of-being. there was a point where i could not hear the individual samples anymore... it felt like it was bending the fabrics of space in and out. it might upon first listen seem to be simple and boring - but it's far from that. after the tune silenced we both stared in speech-less awe, he especially, for he never heard anything like autechre before. i think recury was meant to be played -really- loud. it has an energy of a hydrogen fission. it might be alive, heh
