  1. I honestly thought it was going to be a new alias for Legowelt. Thanks for that, gonna look that up :) The Maltese scientist backstory made me doubt it too but it turns out this is really a dude from Malta who did his PhD in Biomolecular Modelling in London a couple of years ago or something. Here from 3 minutes onwards he plays a different rendition of the unreleased track from the NTS show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISB6Jzv1MCA Found his album and tape on Juno now by the way!
  2. New Nightwind release just announced:
  3. Looks like Son Of Social Zombies = Jupiter Jax? Trying to get ahold of his Visions LP + Visitors Cassette, now if only someone from the label would reply before they sell out.
  4. I'd actually pared my votes down to about ten tracks since I felt like I could pick that many real standouts, and when I added more tracks it started to feel a bit random. With 10 more votes I might have to rethink my strategy.
  5. I never joined Facebook, or myspace, or any of its other predecessors. The majority of my closest friends aren't on there (anymore) either. Of the three who are, two have the slightly annoying habit of talking about it, typically to complain about or ridicule something someone else posted. I'm sure all of their FB posts are well written and super interesting, lol. The third guy basically never mentions it other than as a source for info on upcoming events or whatever. It probably helps that all of my real friends live close by and I see most of them every two weeks or so at the very least, we use a Telegram group to make plans and occasionally shoot the shit on there too, but the group is mostly dead quiet during the workweek. I've had Twitter for several years now to follow a bunch of music/entertainment/sports people mainly, I don't tweet, don't RT or favorite stuff, am not on there under my real name, don't follow nor am I followed by any real life acquaintances, don't want to be found. I'm a regular at three or four forums at any given time but I disagree that they're the same thing, they're a lot more casual and predominantly about keeping in touch with certain topics or subjects rather than personalities. There is definitely posturing too, but I think the social network / popularity aspect of forums, or mailing lists for that matter, was more of an afterthought or side effect that I never really cared for whereas it's at the core of the more recent 'social media'. I actually quit several forums when for my liking their emphasis shifted too much towards how 'hilarious' and pally their members were being instead of actually writing something on topic every now and then but I guess I'm just boring and old.
  6. For those suffering from withdrawal: the latest Crème podcast happens to be him as well. Epic cloudbusting remix somewhere around the hour mark, "Emiel Emmereend" and the mysterious Son Of Social Zombies make another appearance as well.
  7. I knew I posted my autobiographical Disco Rout "story" somewhere before and sure enough here it is. Also looking at the artwork now I realized the uncanny parallel between skiing or snowboarding and surfing on ice cream but I'm sure that's just my brain looking for patterns where there aren't any.
  8. Come on you cunts, let's have some love for Bob "Morgan"! Also,
  9. Well I logged in ~12 hours ago and only made a first selection of 20 just now. I did notice the save warning but I'd been reading the thread beforehand so I can't say if the way the thing functions is obvious enough to the completely "naive".
  10. How about reading what it says on the voting site?
  11. richard should definitely pull a Telex https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQUlkCHGn6I
  12. It's like a murked out remake of Disco Rout meets Rock To The Beat, and even if it isn't, the comparison of the two tracks is a good illustration of how his sound has evolved over the past 15 years. I'll always love the original though, no matter how many times he disowns it or whatever, it's the track that got me into the 'welt in the first place. Been listening to those NTS shows some more lately, this Orgue Electronique remix is a couple of years old but new to me I think. Reminds me that I need to listen to Strange Paradise again, soon.
  13. I only put up a quick top 5 because other posters were discussing how difficult it would be, but it appears to have started a chain reaction that'll probably end up wiping out civilization before the maniton can finish his work on the poll. Sorry about that guys. WTF does maniton even mean anyway?
  14. 1 Chink 101 Fork Rave Bob Morgan 5 Scorrier 34 Ibiza Spliff easy
  15. I wouldn't be surprised if "Pretend Analog" was far older than 2005... its the'...' that makes me think you know this as fact.
  16. Seriously. Can't believe this kind of quality is just being thrown up there. Amazing tune. The gift that keeps on giving! Getting the vibe it was recorded around the time Fenix Funk and XMDA was. actually after the 2 minute part, some aspects remind me of the midsect in xmaseve. I'd throw a few on this one being post 2000 with you. Sounds almost Syro-esque to me...
  17. I officially can't fucking keep up anymore. Will try to sit down and catch up later tonight.
  18. So in other words there's "basically no difference between the streaming and download versions" except the streaming versions have additional generation losses that make them audibly worse than the MP3s he uploaded regardless of what their quality was.
  19. Thanks man, I was still waiting for him to make them downloadable but I've downloaded these now in case the account doesn't come back.
  20. Don't know if it's just the mood I'm in or what but today's batch is really hitting the spot.
  21. He's uploading so many now that even my Soundcloud notification e-mails have kicked in again.
