    Sure thing! I just tested it with a 4N28 and a 100K pot with a 5V source, and it seems to work well. The minimum resistance seems to be around 110 ohms. I haven't wired it up for a signal yet, just breadboarded the test circuit. So there'll definitely be some attenuation but it might be acceptable. Or you could just put an op amp after it.

    I was digging around and found a cache of ICs from 2011. For some bizarre reason I ordered 3 different sizes of Atmel EEPROM - I think I was thinking of auxiliary ATTiny memory? I've never worked with this stuff before but I'm wondering what I can do with it. Maybe make a sequencer or something.

    Also there were a bunch of optocouplers. I guess you can make (passive?) VCAs with these - I was looking at Mystic Circuits' design and wondering if I could roll my own.     Yeah, this makes a lot more sense to me, I was going to say just this. The only chat rooms I've enjoyed recently have been Mixlr sets and Twitch streams.

    Ehh, I'd have to put it some time in the 60s or 70s. The space race was pretty dumb but it gave us ARPANET. XPARC did some amazing shit too. Reagan was definitely the beginning of the end.

    In 3.x? Sure, make a control for it in the instrument editor (modulation, I think). Then create a macro for that control. Now this macro can be a target for automation, LFOs/metadevices, or commands, and you can offset or fine tune it as you like.
