  1. I've just ruined my 100 pund 1tb external hard drive with my music projects. And don't ask if I had an back-up... Just kill me.
  2. This youtube comment got a lol out of me:
  3. I played in on PC in beginning/middle of this year. I think.. Don't remember when the last steam sale on Valve games was. Actually the first time I've completed it on PC. I played HL2 for the first time when The Orange Box was released for Xbox 360 in 2007.
  4. Half-Life single player: it's fun to kill NPC's. Call Of Duty single player: it's not. Sure the multiplayer is fun in Call Of Duy, and the controls are great, I'll give you that. but I don't really care that much for multiplayer... So yeah... Preferences. Anyway, I've probably wrote too much fanboy shit about HL in this thread. I should take a break.
  5. Half-Life isn't a very good example of that. Because HL2 is still better than almost every new shooter. You're not going to tell me that Halo, Call Of Duty, Killzone, Resistance or <insert generic shooter> are better shooters. None of those are even mechanically 'superior'. It's only graphically.
  6. This both makes me feel amused and sad at the same time.
  7. Adam Jensen was a shitty protagonist. I don't know why I liked that game so much.. I just did.
  8. Deus Ex: HR wasn't perfect, and it had a lot of issues. But I loved the shit out of it. Closest thing we're probably ever going to have, to a high-def Blade Runner video game.
  9. The same can be said for Bioshock. The best sequence of that game was the opening, and you didn't do anything but watching what was happening around you. More games needs to learn from this. Especially shooters, the first person perspective is such a great way to tell a story. I'm not saying there shouldn't be any gameplay, but a lot of games have pacing issues.
  10. The pacing was what I really loved about HL2 + Episodes. There wasn't explosions in your face every 10th second, like every other shooter. It's was nice with more quite/puzzle solving moments every once in a while. The pacing and atmosphere was what made it so great in my opinion.
  11. Also some of the facial animations in HL2 are still better looking, than most games been released today.
  12. Mmmm, Source 2: Electric Boogaloo. Would be interested to see. Source had crazy longevity! Indeed HL2 is still a good looking game today, I would argue. Portal 2 also looked gorgeous, didn't look like a game that was made on a 8 year old engine.
  13. If they're releasing Left 4 Dead 3 before a new Half-Life game.. Then I'm done being a Valve fanboy.
  14. Pretty sure they won't be making the third episode. They have confirmed they are working on Source 2, so they're probably getting Half-Life 3 ready for next gen instead. I know Half-Life has always primarily been a PC franchise. But I can't imagine they won't be launching a new Half-life on day one, for as many platforms as possible. The gaming industry has changed a lot since HL2 was released. And considering how big a success the Left 4 Dead games where on consoles (sales wise), they'd be stupid not to prioritize console versions, as much as a PC version this time.
  15. Thanks for posting this. Completely forgot about this release.
  16. The Future Sound Of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch
  17. Sorry.. One more post. The Four Tet remixes of Madvillainy are great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdyNcBn1BF4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YA70lNHsKbI
