  1. Did not have the time yet to blast one of those sets on proper speakers. I'm home alone right now so I guess it is time to blow some Ae as loud as possible. So...Nagano you say :spiteful: ?

  2. Sorry to bump this thread, but I just found Analogue Bubblebath 3 on wax in my record store. I just wanted to share the good news with people who appreciate it :flower: (yeah, because my friends/family just look at this gem like : "you spent almost 30€ on that awful record ?")

They also had the Smojphace EP for like 5€ but it look too heavily damaged...Too bad !

  3. sure. it's just that i have a get together with my vidja boys once every week or so and thought it might be a good split screen multiplayer game for us to play. one of them got me a working dreamcast for christmas so i think i'll be breaking out quake 3 next time

We were kind of disappointed with my brother as well when we learned about Splatoon offline multiplayer (and we don't have the "pro" controller or whatever is needed to play it anyway). But the online multiplayer is so fun and quick to play that you easily throw a Splatoon party with friends without getting annoyed (regular matchs last for 3mn and are definitely not boring to watch, you just hand them the gamepad when it's their turn to play).

You can even do what I'm doing right now - browsing WATMM when it's not your turn to play :)

  4. Amiibo functionality in Twilight Princess HD has been leaked: secondary characters Amiibo will replenish your items and hearts, while Wolf Link Amiibo will unlock an exclusive new dungeon:

    http://m.ign.com/articles/2016/01/14/report-zelda-amiibo-replenish-hearts-in-twilight-princess-hd

There is also a Hero mode where enemies do double damage

Wasn't interested in Twilight Princess HD at all because I played it for the first time just a few years ago. However, given the fact that I'm more and more wanting to buy amiibos and that there's a new dungeon, I might spend some money on it...

But the sudden pitched up vocal sounds like a missed Quasimoto rip-off...

Are you refering to Kendrick's lines?

Hmm. I knew I was missing something there!

    :cisfor:

Haha, I guess listening to it with shitty earbuds and an overall weak hip hop knowledge did not help. I know that's an heresy but only Kendrick track I really know is the flylo track!
  6. I don't really hear the AFX influences here, but I sure heard the weirdest auto tune ever. The "sung" moments just remind me of Drake's Hotline Bling, only worse.

The madlib instrumental sounds a lot better. But the sudden pitched up vocal sounds like a missed Quasimoto rip-off...

  7. Been watching the Hateful Eight this week end, found it great, yet a little too long for tastes. I know Tarantino is all about rhythm in his films, but this one is a bit of a hit and miss rhythm-wise to me.

Anyway, the actors are all amazing and the dialogs are pure gold. Imo it's Tarantino paying hommage not to western movies or whatever but to comedy (dark and twisted comedy but comedy whatsoever)

  8. Was planning to finish a track yesterday buy wasn't able to do it. I guess first submission will be either a drum track with very sparse melodic elements or a track I finished just before the WB challenge started. Kind of gutted about it, yet I consider the WB as a musical pendant of the NaNoWriMo, thus I shouldn't be bothered about uploading a crappy tune made in half an hour, just for the purpose of uploading a track.

    But still, that's a shame !

  9. Really, what it is about this album I like is the melodies. The chaotic madness of the song structures, the splicing of styles often not associated with each other, the garish genres included in the mix - all fine, interesting, fascinating, but at heart Garden of Delete is a really beautiful record, and that's what drew me to it. It took a while - my initial response was very much "what the fuck are all these sounds and why are they together?" but reading so much about it made me go back to it a few times and once I was used to the sound of the album I could appreciate the compositional elements, and suddenly bam. Yeah, really beautiful album.

Exactly. Maybe that's something he tried to point out by sharing the MIDI files early - the chord progression of Mutant Standard is beautiful, even played with random MIDI piano sounds. The way it's been recorded then just sublime those progressions :)

  10. Finally bought the 2nd batch. Started with Grafenhainichen, and oh my god is this marvelous. I had hard times trying to "get" the 4 first live recording (found it pretty harsh at first), but it's getting better and better every time I listen to one of the sets.

Can't wait to rediscover Krakow when I'll finish listening to the 5 newest beasts :music:

  11.

I did this 2014 and it was awesome. It really helped me to finish tracks - many of which ended up on an album. I don't think I'm going to do it this year, but I'd recommend it for anyone struggling with productivity. Just get something done every week.

That's what I was hoping for and I've read a few comments along the same lines. Great. This will help me learn the Monomachine better, too, as I've had it for a year and I'm only now realizing what a beast it really is.

I'm thinking about doing some hardware restrictions for the challenge as well, like doing everything on my MPC. Or buying Reaktor and making a song every week showing my learning curve of the software. I think it might be the most interesting approach to such a challenge, but it can also be a pain in the ass to work on the exact same setup every week for a year...

Squee, your Donk level is really challenging yet very fun to play. Been trying to beat it like 20 times now. First time it's happening to me with an "amateur" Mario level. Thank you very much for the fun, gonna try other WATMM levels today :)

Cool! What seems to be the challenging part? The design might be throwing you off :)

By the way, I won't use trampolines anymore for jumps. They're too random.

I can't get past the third step (the one when you take the flower and have to jump on a flying Koopa). The jump here is tough to achieve. I tried other routes but always died. Hard as ball indeed!!

  15. Any recommandations of must-have games for a happy new owner of a Wii U :w00t: ? Had Mario Kart 8 on the machine (great fun), currently downloading Splatoon while making my first steps in Mario Maker (great, great GREAT fun). Was wondering what games (indie or not) were the most enjoyable ! Thanks in advance WATMM :) !
