Would be awesome if Warp gave the Kaoss Edge tracks a proper release...could be a "pre-album" release or something

Yeah, it's good to see they're finally back. Warp should show them some respect and give them a deece release.

You'd think they would never get together again after the death of Flow Kranium. RIP.

Ezra could even take some CSS lessons with the money they'd make off the sales !

Also, the "Guitars" vid is awesome, kind of sound like a blend of Replica samples, r+7 voice patch + medieval guitars, it's awesome. Maybe it's the same song as in the flame vid ?

  2. I think it's a really clever teasing campaign. The videos are getting more and more interesting (IMHO), and the fact that the details on how the album will be released are so blurry is also interesting. Warp seems to be determined to do one massive campaign for that album anyway, and I think they're doing it right. Perhaps they also want OPN to get kind of "mainstream".

  3. It worked on the pointnever website, thanks :) the excerpt is quite interesting, maybe it's the "medieval ballad" he spoke about in the interview ?

And regarding the weird release format : definitely possible, and would be awesome ! Also, it's quite unusual to see a big label like Warp making an announcement acknowledging they haven't finished preparing the release of an album !

  4. what's with the sub nardwuar meets bananafish interview?

Don't know. I guess it's all made up by Lopatin himself. Ezra, Flow Kranium, and Kaoss Edge both have a twitter account started on august 2nd or 3rd, with similarities between the tweets and the interview (Ezra being an alien with acne, Flow Kranium being dead on cryo etc).

It's quite an impressive job on the album's background (or is it just album background ?).

    So well written.

There are definitely a lot of tracks in the downloaded file that are also on the YouTube playlist, but since they’re both so long and so many of the songs have names like “prncDMC” or “1.5 Dp5 Beats,” it’s hard to tell if they’re exactly the same. Figuring that out sounds like a good job for someone with a ridiculous amount of time on their hands.

They're obvisouly asking for our help here !

    Just sayin'...

Nah atypic is pretty close imo. Most of the dump is pre-1996 stuff, with the occassional odd one out. For example, he uploaded T13 / T8 with the noyzelab interview stuff and described it as one of his most recent tracks. Afaik the cottage tracks are Analord-era or later, not sure. The Vibert remix is definitely done somewhere in 2006. I do have my doubts about tigercubdelay.

I'm convinced that 179 brk 2 is made in the Drukqs era. Dead giveaway is 1:52 and onwards. Still not sure about Notting Hill Bus although I guess it's somewhere in the late 90's. Are there more recent-sounding ones?

Shit yeah forgot about the Vibert remix and the Noyzelab. Theory goes out the window. In that case Cheetah3 is a Syro outtake then, amazon :)

(Could well be in for some Drukqs/Tuss/more Syro period in the near future then possibly maybe!)

Cheetah3 reeeally sounds like Syro, but then again, when were the first Syro tracks made ? minipops was played around 2005 iirc, probably recorded before that, so maybe the Cheetah track has been made in the late nineties after all - and, to be honest, that would absolutely blow my mind off :music:

  7. Cornish Spreek5b [st. Nectan S Glen Waterfalls Mix] = :catcry:

    This.

Just saw how much new tracks he posted, wanted to play it while working, but couldn't do shit because I just wanted to listen to this beauty without being disturbed by anything.

Especially love the Acrid Avid Jam Shread percussions at the end of the track :music:
