The drums are immediatly interesting, back and forth sliding around like a rubber ball on coffee, bouncing and insisting on reversing, reverse sliding around the walls. Little kicks and clavs, love it llove it lllove it. The melody is subtle enough to work against the unique drums, and unique they are and that's what really matters to me. To me. Could ask for a little more variation throughout the song, the melody I mean, the drums they are fine, they are coffee in an empty stomach kicking your head in.

Now this was freakin amazing! I loved it to death, but I have one complaint. The sound quality is very crappy! This may be accredited to the myspace compression, but I just need to know that the quality version doesn't have that closed eq sound.

For that matter, it seems every track on your profile has strange some strange eq's going on. There are definitely some amazing details present here in these genius tracks and I would love to hear it in quality sound!

overall, i find it a bit too messy if you ask me. can't really follow the melody... try to balance things a little. drums are well done, nice job there, but at times it loses... mm how to say it... "roll", y'know, when the beat kind of goes rythmically ok (i.e. as in jungle). didn't like the pad sound you chose at the beginning, sounds too sharp imo. work a bit on the dynamics too, i agree with salvatorin about that.

and yeah, it is totally electronic music lol, might sound as a cliché but it's true :)

thanks alot for your comments people...

Im thinking of doing some slight edits on the melody i think it gets a bit too repetitive.

ANd the bad EQ is the myspace player it always takes my tracks and face fucks em to kingdom come.

I wasnt trying to sound like rdj but he probably is my biggest influence, and i probably do pinch little ideas from him :P

this was mainly influenced by Bucephalus Bouncing ball as you can tell by the drums.

thanks alot for listening really apreciated!!

I wouldn't agree that the melody is overly repetitive. Actually, I think it would be a mistake to make the melody anymore complicated...the track is based on the percussive sounds and I think the melody should stay simple.

what do you use danknugz?

back in the day when I was your age I use to experiment with production (around 95 96) I used this program called "The Drums Pro 95" I think it was midi based. These days I just use cubase but I never have enough time and/or inspiration to complete a single track unfortunately. Maybe someday

really like this track, especially the silent part with those aphexian intervals and more definite structure in beat programming,

nice job, your fruity loops skills are great! :ok:

never heard any madness like this from a reason user, is this just coincidence?

I guess because Reason is probably more oriented in hip-hop production? :undecided:

I know that Flying Lotus made "1983" almost if not entirely on Reason (Daedelus told me during his live show)

Why? I've been impressed with people who've made some pretty crazy shit with less resources. I come from the school of thought that it is not the tools we use which make us good, but rather how we employ them.

EDIT: By the way Televisor, really love the track and I hear ya on that one about the MySpace player. It's rubish!

no need for the condescension i understand the value of talent vs. tools

i was just under the impression that fruity loops isn't possible of making complex stuff like that, but im just ignorant cause ive never used it myself just what ive heard of it, and I guess the name "fruity loops" doesn't really sound like something you would make great music with

two words: orange dust. an artist you should definitely check out. makes his music entirely in fruityloops, also lives in perth, and blows the televisor out of the fucking water.

.. sorry junglist_jon, but orangedust is superior.

i just checked out the "Orange Dust" myspace page, I must admit i was drawn in by the cool looking graffiti and mystical poetry but the tracks that are up there didn't really do much for me.
