Guest Shit Attack

dont they become albums when theyre made into recordings you can buy and take home ? it dosent really matter if it wasnt initially conceived as an album same as film soundtracks werent originally conceived as "albums" either. once its made into album format its an album by golly ! @_@ !

Awepittance, why not Musick to Play in the Dark Vol. 1 or Time Machines or something? theres better coil albums out there than stolen/contaminated

heh, for me Musick to play in the dark vol 1 was the beginning of the end of Coil. I very much prefer their more playful, mostly instrumental stuff previous to Musick. Time machines is a nice LP but it isn't very notable or unique compared to the other Coil ambient works (how to destroy remixes and worship the glitch).

Loves Secret Domain was my intro to Coil but i always felt the album was a little unbalanced, some of the songs were excellent and others were not really my style. I grew to love L.S.D. eventually but Stolen and Contaminated (it's remix and outtake counterpart) always felt more complete and diverse. The opening song 'Futhur' and the 2nd to last track 'Her Friends The Wolves..... ' are probably my 2 favorite Coil tracks of all time

edit: It's really hard to choose a favorite Coil album, i'm also a huge fan of Worship the Glitch and 1,000 lights in a darkened room & the Unnatural History series.

Guest Glass Plate
Igor Stravinsky

stravinsky didn't make albums, you faggot.

Perhaps in the literal sense he didn't, but I think you'll agree the piece far more musically cohesive than a lot of the stuff being called an album today. Why are you being so impolite about such a simple disagreement?

By the way; I cannot believe I failed to mention 'Deloused in the Comatorium' or 'The Soft Bulletin'. I suppose it's just a matter of not having enough space. Oh well.

Because this thread is specifically about albums, and I consider compositions be something totally different. Not to mention it's pretty much the only composer in a total mix of stuff that's completely unrelated and it's just really annoying when people latch on to just a couple composers to name drop now and then to act like they're into classical music.

lol glass plate. how do you have any idea if he's namedropping or if he actually loves that composer and wants to include him? i'd certainly include gorecki's 3rd symphony in a list of "albums" if it meant i could tell someone how much i appreciate it. am i namedropping it by doing that? you sound so fucking insecure.

Just yesterday I decided to compile the top ten albums of all time. This is of course all subjective, but I wanted to see what other people's list looks like. You can read mine at the link below.. gonna eventually go through each one and write a few things about them...

--

http://analoguerevolver.blogspot.com/2009/...-albums-of.html

i agree with drukqs a # 1. the other's... meh, except for SAWII and the wall. Ultravisitor is nice but not top 10 material (for me).

Below is a facebook survey deal:

Think of 15 albums that had such a profound effect on you they changed your life or the way you looked at it. They sucked you in and took you over for days, weeks, months, years. These are the albums that you can use to identify time, places, people, emotions. These are the albums that, no matter what they were thought of musically, shaped your world. When you finish, tag some others, including me. Make sure you copy and paste this part so they know the drill.

IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER (except for Drukqs)

1. Aphex Twin - Drukqs Unofficial Vordhosbin Vid on youtube

2. Dieselboy - System Upgrade

3. Otto Von Schirach - Global Speaker Fisting

4. Ceephax Acid Crew - Ceephax Acid Crew

5. Aphex Twin (as AFX) - Analord series 1-11 Crying in your Face youtube

6. Telefon Tel Aviv - Fahrenheit Fair Enough TTV youtube

7. Metallica - ...And Justice for All

8. The Misfits - Static Age

9. Primus - Sailing the Seas of Cheese Tommy the Cat Vid (Official)

10. Nirvana - In Utero

11. Venetian Snares - Rossz Csillag Alatt Szuletett

12. Squarepusher - Feed Me Weird Things

13. Plug - Drum 'N' Bass for Papa

14. The Tuss - Conferation Trough and Rushup Edge (I put them both cuz they're EP's... Prob 60 min worth of moosic total so i figure it's fair. Synthacon 9 youtube

15. NIN - The Downward Spiral

So while these might not be my faves, they helped shaped who I am today.
