Ted Kennedy died

Guest Adjective

according to wikipedia: "Death

Kennedy faked his death late Tuesday night in an effort to pass universal healthcare on August 25, 2009 at his home in Hyannisport, Massachusetts."

EDIT: dammit, somebody already changed it. that was fast.

My understanding is that he went off to shag an intern/aide while drunk, crashed into a river, ran off without trying to get help, she drowned, over the next day he made various bungled attempts to cover it up until the body was dredged up. Got a suspended sentence for leaving the scene of an accident and then spent the next 40 years attempting to redeem himself/still drunk while tacitly supporting republican terrorism in NI. So that's drunk driving, manslaughter and perjury. And although the exact nature of his support for Irish republicanism is controversial, if he had had a beard and had chanted durka durka durka instead of being a bogbrained murphy drunkard, he would have been tortured and his family killed by a hellfire down the chimney. Yay America.

or he got set up and deliberately discredited to stop him running against tricky dick for the presidency because 3 assassinations would have looked a bit suss

Excellent.

Of course, now we will rewrite history, prop a halo on his head, and talk about all the good he's done.

That's the routine. Never much cared for him, but he did actually work hard up until his death, unlike Thurmond and Byrd, the only two senators to stay in office longer.

i'm sure none of you have done anything wrong, ever.

he was THE voice of american progressivism for decades, and i'm not sure anyone will step up to fill his shoes.

If you mean "never killed anyone, tried to cover it up, and escaped prosecution due to money and family connections", I'm pretty sure you're right.
