Ive searched through out their catalog and this song(especially live) is on another level compared to the rest of their material. I don't know of any other artists that have done tracks/performances of fully within these dynamics.

I know of quite a few good trip hop group's but I'm pretty sure none of them have jammed out with their clams out this hard? please tell me this isn't so, show me something even more wicked, pleeez

EDIT:why cant we just use regular html embed codes?

thanks for the suggestions guys, I must say though in my opinion none of them are as epic, evil, catchy, hypnotizing wicked as that live version of Dirge to me ears

its a great album, great trip hop but I don't think any of it is as dark, heavy epic energetic gangster as dirge... I know there's stuff out there that's gotta be close to this wicked or better

EDIT:and what are they twiddling on the synth's so much that sounds soo bad ass, the LFO or something?

I haven't played it for yonks but a lot of the bands mentioned would be influenced by the band Suicide. Their self titled album is considered a classic, it's an acquired taste but worth checking out. I think it was released at the beginning of the 70's.

Something really dark and epic (but def not hip-hop heheh) would be Sisters of Mercy stuff and the first Joy Division album.

Jedi Mind Tricks, Violent by Design is a great hip-hop album with dark themes. Hope this helps.

The OP immediately made me think of Two Lone Swordsmen's From the Double Gone Chapel. Even though the vibe's not really the same as the clip you posted, the description fits. Definitely a great album. I'll have to check out some of the others in this thread.
