I'm surprised nobody has called poppycock on this, yet. With an IP address, the best the general public can do is pin down the ISP hub which owns the IP that was logged.

 

You can't map an IP address down to a street address.

you can get pretty close, depending on how detailed the hostname is. a lot of colleges put the dorm hall name right in the hostname.

 

but yeah, that map is obviously not street-address accurate.
