i was watching thinking, "he's being an asshole, but i love it"

it took some unbelievable skills to be able to taunt without losing focus and taking zero damage

it's poor sportsmanship but at the same time, who is going to stop him?

edit: he couldn't finish though

I don't really get it, they are complaining that he didn't make it a good fight but he was up against someone he could beat easily so what did they expect? Never seen UFC by the way

Is silva a great fighter? Yes. Is silva somewhat of a pussy? Absolutley. Don't get me wrong...he has some of the best standup out there, but I personally want to see what he can do on the ground considering be refuses fight after fight to take down anyone. If you can get passed his little mental games and cocky attitude and manage to get on top of the guy, I think you'd be able to do some good damage...we just need someone who is capable of taking down ANYONE...GSP I'm looking in your direction

He got the balance right against Griffin. If he wants to fuck around, go for it, but just make sure it's followed by a ko or a submission.

he trains with the Nogueira brothers though, i would think he's quite capable on the ground these days. but it wouldn't be smart to remove his reach advantage in the fight intentionally, until the moment someone actually lands a clean a strike and manages to shake him up. his standup is amazing, he knows it, and that's he's not going to go to the ground just because he could.

only my opinion of course

yesterday or whenever it was, silva was a real embarrassment. he spent the entirety of the 3rd and 4th rounds taunting maia to bring it on, to throw a punch etc, but when in round 5, maia only having one eye to see through, started fucking throwing for the fences, even punching while on one knee, silva ran away, hid behind the ref etc.

if you are so dominant, such a skilled fighter, finish fights. you don't see fedor emelianenko, or any other top guy running away from an opponent, especially if he was in a fucked up shape such as maia

someone needs to give him an opponent that doesnt feed into his strengths, no more shit strikers.

give him a good wrestler, a good striker etc.

fuck it, give him belfort or shogun

id like to see him do the salsa in a cage versus either of them

at 185 i think sonnen, belfort or henderson could beat him. henderson being a rematch ofc

at 205, machida, rua, jackson, mousasi could have a decent shot aswell
