anyone else got one? i think they're ridiculous.

picked one up from a guy at work who owed me money,

fair trade i guess.. i needed a portable player for my car's broken cdplayer.

but wow is the mandatory software for a zune a bloated piece of shit.

i can't upload two of the first albums i want to put on it because

it keeps applying album info two three separate albums as if they're one,

two of which are windows default music.

just fucking let me drag and drop folders already!

all my mp3 albums are tagged properly.

i can't stand ipods or zunes anymore for this reason,

forcing you to use their DRM laden bloatware just sucks.

what software exactly do you need for the zune? as far as the ipod goes, itunes is so clutch on macs anyway that it hasn't caused problems to me or anybody i know.

the zune requires microsoft's application to transfer files,

downloaded from zune.net.. big 30+ MB bloated software package.

yeah ipod was easier to deal with when i had one,

itunes is friendlier than the zune app. still slow bloatware though.

120 MB software install and it still spends 5 minutes downloading updates..

what could possibly take up that much room?

I use a zune and their software. Though its occasionally retarded, the software isnt that horrible and i've heard a few people who actually quite like it for managing their library. After actually figuring out how to use the program and getting it set up, i've had no problems, and don't feel that the software is "bloated" any more than 95% of media all players.

Quit complaining about shit that was given to you for free, dont use it, or sell it. You sound like a spoiled bitch whining that her daddy gave her a Lamborghini when she wanted a Ferrari

You're just now discovering/realizing this, regardless of not owning one previously?

you mean a bloated piece of shit similar to the unnecessary proprietary front end Itunes?

I've owned both a zune and an ipod, verdict? They are both annoying as fuck to have to use a software program to put music on. The Itunes on the mac however runs far smoother than on the PC, its almost as if Apple makes the windows version a buggy piece of shit on purpose.

Basically the same here, though my zune broke a long time ago. I still find their software nice to use, it arranges your library in a very visually appealing and functional way.

i agree gaysex TV is good

i didn't get it for free, a coworker gave it to me because he owed me 75 dollars.

its a really old zune, dinged up a bit but works.. probably going to stop holding charge soon,

so who knows what that'll cost to service

and yeah, it is bloatware.. 120 MB setup exe? you kidding me?

for what that software does, and it's simple flashy graphics,

there is no need for that let alone how much room it takes up post-install.

there's nothing wrong with being critical of a product man,

free or not. i can appreciate its use if only for it's music playing function alone,

even if the software is garbage.

a simple walkman ought to be enough for anybody. tapes can easily hold 120 minutes of music these days, and really, who has time to listen to more than 2 hours of music? even if you happen to have some insanely long commute, it's not hard to stick an extra cassette or two in your pocket.

I just found my old sony tape player :yeah:

But in fairness, I study with music. So today that was a solid 4 hours of music.
