marf
http://www.wwoof.org/ "WWOOF is a world wide network - It started in the UK in 1971 and has since become an international movement that is helping people share more sustainable ways of living. WWOOF is an exchange - In return for volunteer help, WWOOF hosts offer food, accommodation and opportunities to learn about organic lifestyles. WWOOF organisations link people who want to volunteer on organic farms or smallholdings with people who are looking for volunteer help." Anyone ever done this or know someone who has? You basically live on a farm. They provide accommodation and food in exchange for 6 hours of work a day. Im not afraid of work, so... I want to go to Europe for a month Only problems i see are not having pocket money and not being close to a city and stuck in a rural area. Still curious. I need to travel on the cheap. luke viia
I have a few friends that have wwoofed... six hours a day seems like a pretty hopeful schedule. Farming is a lot of work. Probably depends on the place you end up though.
Guest umop_apisdn
Is this anything like the community Locke lived with on Lost?
Cryptowen
I've considered trying it for a while when I get out of college. Of course if you're travelling Couch Surfing is a similar option, but you'd probably have to get a new place every day or two & buy your own food. Guest happycase
I'd save up no more than $2,000. You'd probably want to make sure you enjoy spending a lot of time exhausted + introspecting.
marf
must be a more rewarding and just as cheap way to travel EU. Maybe camping in a tent in the cities. Live on good Euro bread
