Guest Frankie5fingers Posted July 31, 2013 Share Posted July 31, 2013 It's about time! lol yeah i know. lol i just have been having a bit of a personal dilemma with the album. about half the songs i originally planned to put on it i tossed. so i had to write half of the album again. this album means a lot to me, and i refuse to release anything that is less than perfect. so that means its gonna be some more time, sorry. but the fact that i made this thread means im moving forward. i already have the bass recorded for a couple songs. its safe to say that im about halfway through. Stephen you outta everyone have shown the most interest in this so thank you for your patience. I like the concept of a bass guitar album. And whew, it's ambient! Like th555 said, it's pretty ambient/minimal but I absolutely love the sound of the bass guitar on it's own, it has a huge range of sound/ability so in the right hands!!!!... It's a weapon! The ambience and just the particular direction the notes take suggest something to follow or something precluding. I'm probably not making much sense. =/ I like it though. As a fan of Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, Malmsteen etc, I guess I'm saying it sounds like the intro or outro to one of their songs (though none in particular come to mind). Specifically Jean Baudin. if you (or anyone) like ambient solo bass you should really check this guy out. he's an amazing musician and grossly unrecognized.
