  1. How much do you think Richard (or any artist in this genre) gets on an LP release?
  2. everything if its shit. btw, id have paid $25-$30 but for an incentive = physical copy, and take the risk of it been shit or not shit, wouldn't be the first time. $10-$12 is about right for this digital thing, that could be shit. shit So wait, you'd be willing to risk MORE on "if it's shit", versus risking LESS? I bet you are really good with your finances. FYI the 16.00/10 quid price is what we originally set it to as a result of dividing the asking amount by the number of needed backers (no idea it would go that far) - can't change the asking price now anyways. It's not like this happens all the time, either.
  3. Looks like Project Cars will give Playstation fans their Gran Turismo on PS4 long before Sony gets around to it:
  4. I'm assuming on the only platform it actually works on, which is PC, right?
  5. Apparently Microsoft is backing this documentary - are they thinking if they remind everyone how bad this game was, it will deflect attention away from how they are ruining XBONE?
  6. I don't know if I would replay it myself - it's one of those games that once you do everything, the urge to do it again is lost. The fantastic game, The Puppeteer will be free on PSN+ next month (US only, I think) - anyone who hasn't played this fantastic game should try the demo. Very innovative and very well done.
  7. Is it as good as the Space Harrier port? It looks like it!
  8. It is so awesome - and I especially love the music by Disasterpeace - I wonder if there is a Fez soundtrack... But that lava climb level... my platforming skills have atrophied for sure... took me about 20 tries before I got that one right - the best hint I can give for that is when you climb up the flipping blocks, to double jump (tap jump twice as you are climbing onto the block) - you'll get up faster, and be prepared to jump again when the block flips. Of course there is a Fez OST! Bought! http://disasterpeace.com/album/fez-ost Yeah, the soundtrack is wonderful. I never got around to finishing it because I took a break from it and that's not something you want to do with Fez because you'll just end up forgetting a whole bunch of things. Nah, play a bit, explore - it will all come back to you - just like riding a bike.
  9. You really get lost in the world... especially if you have a good surround sound setup... despite the pixel graphics, it really does transport you into the game (visually and sonically). I might have to adopt Fez as my new avatar!

  11. That was not as hard as I expected it to be... but fuck me if I'm going to translate all what the master cube says...
  12. Everything? Damn. I got stuck when it came to translating all the scripts. Steam walkthrough FTW LOL But yeah, I hope you didn't use that walkthrough throughout the entire game. That game is all about discovering. No, I tried to do as much as I could on my own, and only resorted to the guide when I got really stuck - I was proud of myself that I noticed the invisible platforms (old video game trope nobody hardly uses anymore) on my own! They are not actually invisible. But you probably knew that already :) Yeah, I found out about them being on the maps AFTER the fact... the last treasure chest (the one that you have to pan upwards just to see)I needed - I noticed one of the maps looked like the level, and I was trying to get the perspective to match the map, and I accidently rotated the map instead of the game... *smacks forehead*
  13. I really hope they can capture the magic Dead Space (the first one) had - this coming for PS4? Oh, yes it is! I might have to give this a go!

  17. Damn you, now I have the SML theme tune stuck in my head... that game had great music for it's time...
  18. Finally finished Fez - every stage, every item, everything. Very satisfying. Great game - one of the best I've played in the last 30+ years.
  19. I doubt the winning bidder will follow through - still, bodes well for the Caustic Window LP auction...
  20. It's unlikely they'd have the extra hands on staff to be doing that - besides, it will be just the record spinning on some very high-end equipment, I imagine - not terribly exciting, IMO. Maybe that Taiwanese outfit that does the CGI reenactments for news events could do one?
  21. I THINK A VIDEO IS A GREAT IDEA. Since there are a lot of excess funds I think all the Kickstarter supporters would love to see a professionally shot and edited video that shows the the package containing the record being opened, the process of it being ripped, and even an interview with the professionals that rip it to explain why those chose the equipment and process they did. Audio (potentially from the rip) could be added in during editing. If hosted on YouTube or Vimeo it could stay there indefinitely so we could all look back on it years down the road and remember this crazy adventure. If people like this idea I'm thinking Joyrex could get estimates and demo reels from a few good video production companies in his area and pick the best one to produce it. Maybe an interview with him could be in the video too! What does everyone else (especially Kickstarter backers) think of this idea??? White I appreciate the enthusiasm, the logistical realities are unfortunately there: The record won't be recorded until after the Kickstarter closes and is funded (aka money in the hands of Rephlex) The studio unfortunately won't even allow attending the session - just how they work (which I respect) I won't have the record until after the first two events happen, and at that time I'll be busy getting the digital distro set up and ensuring everyone gets their download codes. You are Grant Wilson-Claridge and I claim my 5 pounds! I also agree with osci. Cause it's more sensible and less of a fuck around. We really need a quick turn around time on this, plus we don't have the ability to muck around with the money very much cause it's going elsewhere. Still though i like the concept, even if the application is a little beyond us, well unless someone wanted to volunteer. Perhaps after I get the record to put on Ebay, I can put together a little video - no promises, though. Joyrex: All of your points make sense, and I totally understand that the thought of adding one more thing to your plate doesn't sound appealing. Since the Kickstarter is in your name I assumed the money goes to you and you cut the check to Rephlex. With that being the case it seems like it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to list the production of a short video as part of the Kickstarter expenses (since most Kickstarter projects do have videos). I work in video production full-time and would be happy to volunteer my services for free because I still feel that something nice and professional could be created despite the logistical challenges you listed. I live in the Chicago area so I wouldn't be able to help with the filming but I'm happy to produce, direct, and/or edit the video so you don't have to deal with the hassle if that's what you prefer. It would be nice to hire an experienced, professional video crew in your area with a great cam, lens, lighting, and audio equipment to film interviews and cool shots at the ripping studio (even if they can't shoot the actual ripping process), and the studio may even appreciate the international exposure. Since I'd handle everything else for free the filming crew would be the only expense, and I'd estimate that that would be less than $1,000. If I'm editing the video I can get you a quick turnaround if that's needed. I truly believe a lot of backers would really appreciate a quality video keepsake archived online to celebrate this unlikely story about "one of the holy grails of Electronic Music". It would be a great added bonus for all Kickstarter supporters and a true testimate to what the WATMM community achieved. Let me know what you think. The money is going to me, but then I hand it off to Rephlex, who pays the seller of the record their agreed upon amount, takes the record to the studio to be converted, and then ships me the record. I appreciate the offer of help though - let's see how things go and possibly revisit this later.
