ok, i lied. getting there with the night-time lighting:

pillows could do with a bit of work and there's something weird going on with the foreground chairs. but at 40 minutes for a 1280x1024 render, i'm done for the night. here's one from near the door (please excuse unfinished bathroom, is latvia hotel).

3ds max/mental ray renderer. the lighting is through mental ray's wonderful daylight system and the materials are mostly mental ray arch + design, tweaked a bit. the first is 9am, the second 1pm, the third 5pm (west-facing room). i'm working on some night-time renders with the lights switched on, but i'm kinda burned out on 3d modelling for the evening now, i think.

this is nicely done, but fake, imo. it's a bit try-hard. sean and rob wouldn't use a formant synth that nakedly. they really got the scuzzy bazz down though. i could swear i heard a synth sequence preset from some VST i know in there too (arturia CS80 or z3ta or something).

Yeah let me sort out a few things with it and I will pm you the file. chopping it in half and using symmetry mod will help with texturing... just convert to poly after? if you're using max 2012 up, using a CAT rig instead of standard rigging would help for animating, there's a nice spider CAT rig preset you could mod... i'm guessing there's a shitload of NURBS/meshsmooth stuff goin on here...

this comment is directed at oscillik. please don't respond with ahaha lol boc fanboy, because i'm not. i am of the opinion TCH is fairly rubbish. however, you are where i used be; the contratian. if the national anthem was xtal, you would declare your version "with the genuine tape hiss" as better. should that version become widespread, you would discard it, and declare the track as being without redemption. you need to get into jazz. there are looooooads of rare jazz recordings, way more than idm. everytime i read a comment of yours, i am reminded of the people where the music is no longer a factor. only the arguments that the music leads to. either learn to love music ina non-judgemental, non-associative way, or else fuck off, oscillik. you're kinda ruining music for everyone else with your miserable attitude.
