  1. this film is about an ex-cop turned serial killer who goes after the (ny)police department because they screwed him over (particularly the police commissionar) and is currently stalking the city killing both innocent citizens and cops in an attempt to clear his name any of this sound familiar?
  2. this is a response (of sorts) to that dummymag article about vaporwave i posted earlier http://vimeo.com/54166230

  5. an eye candy hall of fame classic that boasts the 3 members of the all century team: the ever-so-lovely brinke stevens, the majestic beauty of michelle bauer, and the sultry linnea quigley. this film set the standards of how b-movies are rated.
  6. yeah- one of my favorite sci-fi films. it was remade as the thirteenth floor another classic piece of filmmaking. has this great part where the camera pans mid-scene to reveal brinke stevens cracking her whip for no apparent reason. yummy
  7. yup- watched this over the course of about 8hrs thanks to having a bunch of people over and being drunk since 4pm (it's now 1am). i liked the documentary but ended up staying indifferent to the 3 guys (especially the ranting-drunk nerd @ the bar) 6 seeders / 10
  8. this is a very vaporwave video documentary http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJVtfRTH4mk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8iXb0g96Sg
  9. is that the one where they covered whitehouse songs? that was a fantastic record. i also loved that they tackled some stockhausen material but i'm not sure how much they followed his instructions for preparation (like not sleeping or eating for 3 days or whatever it was)

  11. just watched the one with joe pesci and the twins. lol great one wtf? i watched that one about 3 days ago too. i mentioned to my gf that they looked like thinner-yellow-teethed versions of julia roberts. are you hiding out @ my place? we're.... twins. i see what you did there

long, dense and complex. not sure where this is going but it's going to take me forever. it's got a bomb, a guy getting a hardon when the bomb goes off, and a guy trying to figure out something to do with bombs. seriously- wtf?
  13. documentary about one fo the worst riots in los angeles history- started by one of the most famous ass kickings ever, soundtracked by rap music. shit gets real
  14. surprised how so many people here feel so negatively towards casino. i actually really like it (even though i read the book before i watched the movie). it's not a great movie, but you guys are making it sound like a spike lee joint p.s. i have a major thing for sharon stone
  15. whoa! part 2 which is, amazingly, not the last of this "beat it to death" idea. basically, it's teetering on terminator 2 territory here- complete with the "i'm on fire" ending thing happening.
  16. popular electronics: early dutch electronic music from philips research laboratories (1956-1963): four (4) cds of early dutch electronics. i'm not certain why it's vogue to reissue early electronics in massive sets and even though this is nowhere as massive as the 12 cd pauline oliveros treatment, it's still a pretty challenging compilation to get through. i've heard a few of these songs in other places (probably film or advertisements) but a larger portion was my first time hearing it- and whilst i enjoyed it, the quality (in terms of sound and songwriting) varies- which then makes a lot of sense why these things are packing more than 2 cds per release. pye corner audio - the ever-present hum: the hum in the title should be taken literarily. these are basically exercises in ambience, just a quarter of a minute shy of 15minutes each, of the quietest moments from the black mill tapes (only done with a different set up)- but does that really matter? goat - world music: in theory this sounds fantastic; a swedish band that plays psychedelic influenced world music injecting their own unique twist into it (read as: mixing polyrhythms so you get things like afro-beat influenced krautrock= afrokraut?). the end product doesn't really work out though, with only a few moments of "hey that was cool. do that again"
  17. weird movie that takes full advantage of robert z'dar's chin to sketch a messy plot about a... maniac cop.
  18. yep. glad i could help. in fact, here is another webzine you can send your stuff to: http://www.damned-by-light.com/ not sure how (or why) i left them out. you can find their contact info here

I read the first chapter of this which was released as a promotion. Seemed good - it's been ages since I've read an Iain (M) Banks novel but based on that, it seems he's still got it. yes- i just read the synopsis of this and it sounded vaguely familiar
