  1. The mononymous Carlsson one. I can't imagine disliking songs like splesh or flep (or fLh or bqbqbq). Always gotta be a whipping boy I guess.
  2. I never thought I'd be saying this, but Robyn's latest has supplanted NTS as my fave 2010s album. Either way, been a great year, lots of great stuff. The Yaporigami 12"s, Roxy: Tonights the Night Live and Dirty Computer have also been superb in my rotation.

Been on a Utrecht tear this week (great set!). The emergence/increased emphasis of things like c16 deep tread and g1e1 is well-storied, but in that last 11 minutes I could swear you also get snippets of dummy casual pt2 (around the 49-50min mark) and c7b2 (among other familiar elements I can't quite identify).
  4. Frane Casual's foreground has always reminded me of window blind cord knobs plinking and swaying with a little breeze, and blinds on pane more generally. As if you start NTS4 gazing out the window at something interesting like a storm brewing. Then a mirage, like some legendary Pokémon sighting, a monolithic biblical column of cloud approaches and whisks you away into flying carpet ride, lift off into outer layers of atmosphere where time and space warps you into a prehistoric jellyfish, then blazing across the universe.
  5. I still hear it as a housefly widow torch song, like a Billie Holiday/Badu type soul number who misses her BrundleFly. My team are in the AFL Grand Final today (West Coast Eagles). Autechre AOTD/tour and a premiership in the same year, such luck!
  6. Never having listened to Untilted in the car = never having listened to Untilted = Insta ban The axiom of vehicularity
  7. Rofl, that pizzeria menu is an elite meme, me want
  8. Regarding Australia, a lot of us also got the 14th August dispatch for CD box, and received by the end of last week (depending on locality). I usually conservatively allow 3-5 weeks with these things, but if a lot of us got it over a week ago (dispatch mentioned 5-7 business days standard mail), it's a little concerning, especially if you don't live in a regional center or remote area. Best of luck, can see why you felt the need to post about this come Friday COB.
  9. Listened to the full CD boxset. Like what I've heard of the LPs, Shimripl fades out and all end fades in. Obviously the digital transition is a spine-tingling moment, but I also enjoy the CD approach.
  10. debris_funk and l3 ctrl are tracks that really benefit from physical form, need the space to reverberate. 32a_reflected also sounds massive. The bqbqbq/fLh haters are tedious try hardy types, the Wurstwasser faction of ae fans only content with brutal beat buffets and 'difficult' 'chre.
  11. Debris_funk is whole lotta lush, best heard down a twisty corridor, loves to roam and maraud
  12. Just arrived by regular post, great condition, very hap!
  13. In the last 3 months I swept through Girls and Neon Genesis Evangelion, good times. EoE is a genuine classic. Currently digging into Porridge, with A Fine Romance from the early 80s next in the pipeline.
  14. Just went out to check the letterbox and the postman happened to fly by without stopping at that exact moment Alas, today would have been perfect. Have visitors for the next week and work ramps up again thereafter. By end of the week will do me now. *CD boxset standard mail to Brisbane
  15. Great read that. Lots of classic anecdotes. Not a review, but what is?
  16. really? Guess I'll have to return this "NTS1-5 + EP diamond encrusted special edition" LP set, must be a misprint. RTS.
  17. A 16xLP set probably looks a bit suss NarcoTicS
  18. CD set from those photos looks rad, although would have appreciated individual Session slips as well (if you want to just have 1 session in the car for a period or something). I guess this is full box set, rather than the individual physical releases bundled. ISO8601 mos def, although DD/MM/YYYY has its purposes and environments. Anything with DD in the middle is cringe.
  19. I got a dispatch email at 3pm on the 14th in Australia, which was 39 hours ago. 7 days standard mail, fairly solid, so hopefully by mid next week CD boxset
  20. Listened to NTS1 for the first time on speakers yesterday, after 30 listens on headphones in April/May. Was an absolute treat to experience these much adored tracks slay gloriously from an entirely different vantage and depth. Nice sampler for the shipped physicals (which being in Australia, might still be a ways off yet, although at least we got the live flesh this year).
  21. Mulholland Drive and Lost Highway are indeed his masterpieces. Wild at Heart is my 3rd favourite from him.
  22. Yes good interview, the questions were pitched nicely for a good Rob n Sean discussion. Download-worthy.
