    Social media in general can be pretty toxic, and opting out of it for a while amplifies that realization even more. I think I've gone nearly a week without browsing Reddit on my phone and already feel slightly healthier mentally. But I'm sorry you had to deal with that altercation. Speaking of peer pressure, two of my coworkers want me to go to some shitty dive bar with them tomorrow night. They've been trying to talk me into it for a while. But I don't really have a viable excuse for opting out this time. Why me. I just wanna be left alone. But fuck it, I'll go just this once. IRL socializing really isn't my thing. If I could get away with being a hikikomori until my dying days, I would.

    This is kind of just another random takeaway, even though I'm not even halfway thru the VOD yet. But it's interesting how he claims that Centipede is his favorite game of all time. I recall in the AAA thread from back in November 2013 that he mentioned DoDonPachi, which is similar in gameplay style, being a shmup. He also had the menu screen from Flashback as his avatar at the time. But now I'm being a gamer geek again. Props to whomever asked about Wendy Carlos. I only know about her music from her soundtrack to A Clockwork Orange, but it's still damn good. And his advice to life in general is hard to argue with: "Don't be a dick."

    Damn I'm late again. Had no idea there was another AMA until this morning. Didn't know him and Rob were asked to do the soundtrack for Metroid Prime tho, that's fuckin sick. Too bad Nintendo shot that down.

    I've learned how to make canned tuna taste absolutely delicious. I like to saute it in the skillet in veggie oil after draining all the liquid out of the can. Then start with a dry seasoning of garlic, ginger, ground pepper. After a few minutes I add chili oil, cook it a bit more, then add a bit of soy sauce and sugar (to balance out the salt) as I'm turning off the heat and stir it a bit more. No need to go to the restaurant when you can achieve this kind of flavor.

    Subscribed to Paramount +. Watched the new Beavis and Butthead today (one month after release). Already cancelled subscription once viewing was complete.

    Finished the Broken Steel questline in FO3 yesterday. I forgor how boring this game gets once you're OP at the max Level 30. At that point combat becomes a joke and it's basically a walking simulator. Might not touch it again for a long time, if ever. I'm tempted to give Empyrion a try. Had it in my Steam library for a while but haven't touched it. Supposed to be like NMS with emphasis on survival elements.

    Made fish (tilapia) tacos for the first time last night, and made more tonight. Seems like it's even better the second day. I don't think I could go back to any other kind of tacos again. No cheese or dairy needed for garnish - just diced tomato, red onion, garlic, cilantro, savoy cabbage, avocado, and a hint of lime juice and hot sauce. Fakin delicious.

    I was trying to squeeze out a bit of Kewpie mayo when I was making a plant-based burger for lunch. But I must have made the mistake of spinning it beforehand, because once I squeezed it, it wouldn't stop for like ten seconds. It just kept coming out. Sporadically. I didn't know whether to laugh or panic.

    Earlier forecast called for rain all day today, but there ended up not being a single drop. And no rain in the foreseeable forecast either. Alaska is turning into a desert. Sucks.

    Just beat the final boss in Gunfire Reborn last night. New DLC just around the corner too it looks like. Basically roguelike Borderlands without the cringe dialogue. Also played the updated System Shock remake demo by Nightdive last night. Can now traverse Cyberspace, and god damn it's crazy how much smoother it is compared to the original. Can't wait for the full game. And I've also been technically helping fund the Fallout: London mod project. Will be my main excuse to reinstall FO4 next year.

    Cornstarch...why didn't I think of that.. That's what I used when I made mapo tofu and it worked pretty well.
