  1. What's wrong with liking something when you're intoxicated and not liking it when you're not? As long as you're really enjoying it, it's fine - and if you're not, don't listen to it? IDM doesn't quite hang together as a category for me - I don't see a universal connecting philosophy in it - except maybe having fun? It's not quite like metal where you're trying to make something with a certain kind of effect or something like house which has certain parameters - what's called IDM is really a mixture of many different kinds of music, it's only that it's electronic and maybe a bit clever or different to other electronic music somehow that ties it all together. It's a pretty loose grouping. To think that you'd been wasting your time with the music suggests that you must have expected something more from it - what exactly? Unless this is just a troll thread?
  2. I just finished Beneath a Steel Sky - well worth playing, loved the retro-future-horror feeling and the surreal banter. Some wonderfully creepy bits of imagination in there. Might replay the CD version - I played the floppy version because I disliked the voice acting on the CD when I initially started playing it. Only down side was a small bug that was fixed by one line of code in the console, and the occasional object that was sligggghhhhttly to hard to find. Might play another point and click next, maybe The Longest Journey?
  3. Confield CD. I had Gantz Graf too, but who knows where it is Have thought about starting to buy vinyl. If I do, I'd get Confield, Gantz Graf, Tri Repetae and Exai (if I continue to love Exai which is looking likely as I didn't get it at first and enjoy it more and more each time) Actually I used to have Incunabula, Amber, Peel sessions (2?), LP7 and EP5 or the whichever way round those two are, Untilted and Draft - but I didn't like any of those enough to keep them

  5. A mug of semi-skimmed milk (Cow's breast milk that's been squeezed out of it's breasts by a machine and is now being swallowed by an ape descendant creature called a human, using a hole in it's face called a mouth, in which are hard protusions called teeth containing several metal plugs made of mercury and other metals. These metal plugs are there to fill holes made by the excretions of bacteria living on the sugar deposits on these 'teeth'. Within this hole in it's face is also a further soft pink hole through which the breast milk of the ungulate is delivered deeper into it's body. YUMYUMYUMYUMYUMYUM milk is delicious. Slurrrp Sluprrpurp Slurrpslurp Schscshcshchlurp. Later on, some of the liquid it consumed, it will excrete from a fleshy tube lower down on it's body)

  11. I listen to 10 different albums every month, this month: 2 different AFX ATP DJ sets Francisco López - O Parladoiro Desamortuxado Gojira - From Mars To Sirius (with last track removed) Hair Stylistics - Vol.1 - Pop Bottakuri Melvins - Gluey Porch Treatments SKM-ETR - The Rugged Meat Cleaver Tool - Opiate Universal Indicator - Universal Indicator Red Venetian Snares - Eat Shit And Die (incomplete, nobody has the whole thing apparently) Venetian Snares - Pink + Green I give them all about 10/10 They have great music style/sounds and interesting themes but the compositions are ultimately unsatisfying for me. Gonna have to give Oneohtrix Point Never - R Plus Seven a listen, they keep popping up...
  12. Rage, I quite like it, it's quite pretty and it's satisfying to throw the wingsticks
  13. I watched this old film called Under the Skin (by Carine Adler) - I give it 10/10 (except the cheesy reggae song (in the soundtrack) at one point, which is only a minor flaw) I watched Adventureland which was great fun to watch but slightly irritatingly knowing
