  1. Got a feeling she will be back. Maybe longer hair next time & more militant.
  2. Royster is already nearing 30 and been involved with a number of acts, big and small. Surely you must have seen the video of him as 11-year old ripping it up. Damn, didn't think he was that old. Time flies I gather. Yes, I have seen. I quite enjoy him.
  3. not bad the first one - i mean i prefer stuff with more subtle timing tbh, and not really into the sound of it much. its kind of impressive but some of them triplets were a bit unnecessary. i'm more into clyde stubblefield if that makes any sense the second one i dunno its all a bit noodly for me really, I'm not really into jazz much Well of course Clyde. James brown had a gun to his head half the time. If you weren't in the pocket you were out. Naw what i mean. I feel you on Royster, he's a son of hiphop more so than crazy poly rhythms. That vid isn't his best, but for his age, he's gonna be something special I think. I have to think you're into Bozzio to some degree.
  4. Saw you mentioned some drummer tastes a few pages back. Tony Royster Jr. is one of the bright up & comers imo right now. This kid can kill it. For your consumption. He has better cuts, but this one is brief & 2 the point. edit: Thoughts on JoJo Mayer? [youtubehd]5nC6-__vlUM[/youtubehd] [youtubehd]gKve3TyC0Sk[/youtubehd]
  5. yeah i know i'm meant to say disco volante but nah, california Was not a loaded question. California's production was better, but did Volante have the better tracks. Statement not question. i only started watching it 3 nights ago, i avoided it cos loads of idiots kept telling me how great it was and when i watched a bit of it years ago it seemed totally shit compared to the wire (which those same idiots didn't seem to get) 2 different shows. Breaking Bad is a grower. You probably won't be disappointed. nah, mountain long red Haha. Good pull. You like the Boom Bap I suppose. Edan's Fast Rap compilation might be up your alley. cheers
  6. Man, you guys still kicking it on here eh. Truly good show. Got some random questions for your discretion... - Disco Volante or California? - Breaking Bad: Last 10min of "Crawl Space" or "Ozymandias" for series best? - Coke or Pepsi? - Kool Moe Dee or Busy Bee? - Spoonie Gee Love Rap best drum sample in Hip Hop history? I said it amen break. - Boxers, briefs, thong or commando? - Decker - Replicant or human? - Are we being trolled like a motherfucker with this thread? - Money, can you guys bum me some? I had to ask. ;) Thanks again guys.
  7. i don't have a snappy sounding answer to this i know a lot of producers would say something lame like 'turn everything down' or 'mix with your ears' but i can't go there i read so many stupid posts on gear forums like that, it never actually works like that. every case is different So do you mix while composing or you tend to separate it on composition and mixing stages? (Of course I don't mean mixing that is naturally involved in composing while making gradations/climax etc). Sometimes I mix a track even for a few weeks before it is really right - which make me often wonder if it's not a problem somewhere else in the track than in the mix (like bad composition or sound design not really working for the vibe or simply sobering from the enthusiasm for the track etc). for me - something can just click into place after running it for days, then just changing one thing, and suddenly theres a moment of awareness like was just totally meant to be that way and it couldn't tell us. yeah i fucking love ween pure guava is in my all time top 10 most days Ween is pure class. 10. yeah it was fun tempered with a carnage kind of angle. just being there is enough, detroit's reach has been deep for us… like going to the centre of the universe in a way. Thanks Rob, Going back to your time in Detroit. Did you rub elbows with any of the Belleville Three? Was Derrick May like, Awww my GOD! it's the Autechre! You guys comb my hair back with AwEsomEnEss!!!? or were you guys like Derrick May, OMG! Noooo Waaayyyyy!!!? knuckle bumps. Thanks in advance
  11. Hey Sean & Rob, When you guys played the Detroit Electronic Music Festival several years back, how did you feel about playing the underground stage with completely horrible acoustics? Or, did the shite acoustics add to the fun? Any fond memories from the bankruptcy that is Detroit? Are the Secret Chiefs 3 ever going to release Book of Souls? Holla.
  12. oh god... purely for documentational purposes [youtubehd]_9-9U6Rm46U[/youtubehd]
  13. Yea. Somewhere in the land of unfortunately... Fun times ahead kids. I'm sorry, when directors start reimagining their work 20-30 years later, that says to me they should stop directing. And really, Ridley Scott is overrated as Ffffuuuck.
  14. And this season has been a fucking trainwreck, except for the scene last ep with the car getting stuck on zombie mounds. Everything else makes me hate this show now. I hope everyone dies and they start with a new cast next season. I'm curious to see what Tyrese & Bob do to Daryl for making such an obvious play on Michonne right in front of them. On a side note, the suits that are producing this show right now are lol. They keep rolling up out for Talking Dead. AND, Marilyn Manson last night. ROFL. Jack osbourne actually took several digs on the show which was rather humorous with the suit sitting next to him. They might change the show name to Talking Trainwreck.
  15. fuck you. die in a fire. Herein lies the problem. They have no story, but a shitload of budget. Going about it the wrong way again.... I'm sure Jack Paglen (who, according to his IMDB profile, has written one other thing ever which isn't even out yet) will do a fantastic job of creating some kind of vague story for this blockbuster in the making. Yeah. The movie he wrote, Transcendence, sounds like basically an updated version of the Lawnmower man. But whatevs, I never bothered with Prometheus to begin with.
  16. Director Ridley Scott has given an update on Prometheus 2. Released in June 2012, Prometheus was conceived as a sort of prequel to Scott's 1979 classic Alien. Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace starred as members of a spaceship crew attempting to prevent the extinction of the human race. The film received a somewhat mixed response from critics and sci-fi fans but performed well at the box office, grossing over $400 million (£255 million) worldwide. 20th Century Fox gave Prometheus 2 the go-ahead in August 2012 but since then progress seems to have been slow. However, Scott insisted the sequel is still in the works at a press conference to promote his new movie The Counsellor, Metro reports, telling journalists: "Prometheus is being written right now. Number two." Prometheus had a script rewritten by Lost creator Damon Lindelof from an original draft by Jon Spaihts, but Lindelof has confirmed he is not involved in the sequel. This June (2013) it was reported that up-and-coming sci-fi screenwriter Jack Paglen was in negotiations to pen the screenplay for Prometheus 2. Noomi Rapace spoke about Prometheus 2 in February of this year, telling The Playlist: "They're working on the script. I met Ridley in London a couple of weeks ago. I would love to work with him again and I know that he would like to do another one. It's just like we need to find the right story. I hope we will." Both she and Fassbender are contracted to return for a second film.
  17. Danish men must have some long schlongs, because if they need to be so far apart from the next Dane, intercourse has to be impossible without a proboscis cock.
  18. I definitely have feeling that American media never portrays some of the shitty things here. Most Americans I've talked to, always thinks that Denmark is some kind of utopia. There are a lot shitty things here too. To give an example: a lot of Americans probably don't know that the gang violence in Copenhagen is crazy. Most Americans probably just associate Copenhagen with stuff like: bicycles, green energy and whatever.... good things. Another thing (And I'm definitely going to sound like an old grumpy man now, which is weird, since I'm only 23). But this new generation (mine included) are just some of the most entitled, spoiled and lazy little brats that have ever lived (that is probably a problem in most western countries nowadays though). But I think those are some of bad things that comes with the Danish welfare. But to give an example, I have just gone back to school to start another education, and think only about 60% of my classmates shows up everyday, and most of those who does show up, just spends their day playing stupid mobile games/facebook'ing on their tablets all day long, and never pays attention to anything in class. Anything that isn't entertainment to them, doesn't concern them. Maybe I have just ended up in a bad class, but jesus christ. Most of them just shows up to cash in on the education financial support (not quite what to call it in english, but it is called "SU" here). We are one of the few countries where you can take a education, without ending up with a huge debt afterwards, and yet people don't give a shit. According to 60minutes, Denmark fucking rocks. Basically you guys have low-zero expectations in life. So when things don't turn out as bad, you're super happy. http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=4181996n Again... We are satisfied Not necessarily happy. watch the video. I would love your take on it. 60 minutes is one of the media ballers in the US. I have seen it, and that 60 minutes show has been analyzed and heavily criticized many times. There is a well respected danish show called Detektor that has discredited it, I wish you could hear it (I don't assume you understand Danish). But it goes into some of the things I've mentioned a few posts back about happiness vs. the danish meaning of happiness. Our fucking liberal-biased US media leading us astray again...assholes.

  21. I thought pretty highly of The Pianist when I saw it. Haven't seen it since that first time. Although you know he survives the ordeal, I still thought he was going to get shot at the end. Polanski takes a lot of heat for his "past transgressions" in the US, but he can sure bang out a quality film every now & then.
  22. are comicbook movies jazzband yet?
  23. Whoa, you see how that dude caught that shield!!! holy shit! & #makingfartnoises
