  1. The Monomachine is the only synth I've regretted selling. ?
  2. lol, I nearly went down the Cirklon route but I'm glad I didn't. It looks great but it wasn't necessary for me. I found the Octatrack such a great central hub but I don't have enough gear to warrant getting another ? I might be tempted by a Digitakt at some point as writing drum rhythms on the Digitone is possible but a bit tricky. As an aside the DFAM is a wicked drum machine. I just wish the Behringer copy wasn't so fucking ugly!
  3. Maybe I was lucky in the past then? I used to just turn the gear on, have my synths/drum machines synced, choose some weird sounds, record to tape. The more I work on something the less I like the finished product. The Octatrack is long gone as is the majority of my gear. I have a Digitone, RD-8, TD-3 and Pro800 on the way. Lots to work with. Thanks for discussing, will hopefully help me find a process that I can enjoy (I've also got kids now so I have less energy/time and will to do this stuff, maybe that's it. Don't have kids!)
  4. I used to love sequencing things from my 1st octatrack. The timing was tight, the process was easy and I'd just jam out tracks all the time. For some reason though I don't have the same urge to do things like that anymore which is a bit of a shame as I used to really enjoy it. I guess I'm just trying to find a process that I equally enjoy but am struggling with it. Anyway, boo hoo for me etc etc ?
  5. Looks like my timing was good for selling my Push 2. Managed to pay for most of my Digitone with that. Do any of you guys struggle with using multiple synths/drum machines at once? I used to love doing it but nowadays I have a mental block with it and go back to making something with only one synth or Ableton.
  6. Are Behringer good or bad? Neither. Do I like them as a company? Not particularly. They have made some useful music tools at reasonable prices. Behringer products that I've used: 808 - Sounds decent. For £300 very reasonable. Is it better than other clones? I don't know or particularly care. 303 - Good for the price point. Lacks the tone of the 'real' 303 but is probably 70-80% there. MS1 - Was a bit disappointed with this but I think it was more to do with the 808 trigger out not working properly with the seq input rather than the sound quality (although remember not being overly impressed with this either). Model D - This did have a nice sound but I didn't enjoy the lack of on board sequencing and linking it with my other gear was a pain in the arse. K2 - Was never going to live up to the MS20 but was capable of some decent sounds (although maybe sounded a little thin?) Similar issues with sequencing which I should have known before buying it. Issues are mainly down to my stupidity and laziness but I've generally enjoyed messing around with their nostalgia machines. Also got the Pro 800 on order.
  7. Thanks dude, appreciate you buying the album ??
  8. Album of tracks over the last couple of years.
  9. Thanks for listening and the kind comments dude. Experimenting with live generative tracks and enjoying (some) of the results!
  10. Made a playlist of colundi stuff that I've found over the last couple of years. There used to be a group of colundi sequence level playlists so thought I'd add to it.
  11. I was told to be a conduit for some Colundi, so I was.
  12. Previous version of this was excellent, looking forward to grabbing this. Did the same people make the 'switch' delay?
  13. Good choice, Tribute is a nice A[l]e.
  14. Can't help thinking they've been a bit harsh on Rob in the trees image... Sample the beautiful Water of Ae, filtered through a 200 year old comb filter.
  15. I'm not going to pretend to understand that... ? IMO Autechre's work sits in the highest echelons of electronic music. Within this work, Confield is most Autechrean (to me)
  16. I don't think it's 'the how' that has changed RDJ's results as he's used similar sequencing hardware for loads of different projects. I think he's just making the tracks that he wants to hear and he's evolving compositionally (which doesn't always result in better work...) He used an Atari/Spectrum to sequence SAW I/Polygon Window (probably most of the Soundcloud dump and ep's/albums.) Think he used Roland MC-4 for the analord tracks where he was trying to make the best ever homemade acid jams. And he was using a Cirklon (which is just a more musically advanced Atari) for Syro where he was trying to make electronic operas.
  17. What a great mix, so many tracks I've never heard! Noticed that I 'felt' stoned listening to the 1st 45 minutes. That's exactly what I want from music (at this moment in time).
