which begs another rhetorical question(s) - wtf is turtle man's end game in all of this? hang on to senate control as long as he can, so he can keep killing any progressive bill in order to spite the dems and keep his 'merica back-assward? I mean it seems incredibly fucked up that one guy can prevent bills that have passed in the house from even getting a vote in the senate. the founding fathers totally overlooked that one...

Bitch is there to serve the agenda of of his conservative (and his increasingly international!) bloc of oligarch backers, which takes the form of

    - preventing any sort of meaningful progressive legislation whatsoever, be it gun control, health care, gender rights, election reforms, even basic bipartisan shit like just protecting elections from foreign interference.

    - pushing through those sweet, sweet, tax cuts, cuz why should rich people pay for anything

    - appointing conservative judges to lifetime seats and keeping the religious right's wet dream (overturning you know what) alive

Short answer to the rhetorical is that Bitch needs an (R) in the White House to most effectively do this bidding, and despite all of the current idiot's flaws, he's still a useful idiot and far more preferable to any alternative.

I agree about the founding fathers missing this one, there's too much power in the major leader's position.  Then again I don't think they could've predicted the normalization of full-on obstructionism - that dickheads can get reelected despite accomplishing zero for the benefit of constituents, only on the basis that they block the opposition party from accomplishing anything.

Maybe he's saying that surripere transcends the rest of the album so cannot be fairly judged along side it. It's autechre taking their final night drive down a city highway (Michael Mann style) until the route becomes infinitely winding until they finally reach the mouth of the Riemann Zeta river.

watch the ride sudden roundabout, prikface

    who's talking smack 'bout Surripere?

I think it's the general fartiness of Surripere, methinks it embarrasses @Roo's delicate disposition.  the more discerning Ae listener embraces these farts, letting them cyclically ruminate within the mind, fart-chamber music if you will.

  4. A coworker of mine got into a fender bender last week, and of all the vehicles on the road, he managed to rear-end one of these armored trucks:

    04XP-MONEY-articleLarge.jpg

So anyway he gets out to assess the damage and exchange info, but their security dudes had to stay locked in the vehicle, since they're trained to treat incidents like this as possible robbery.  It all got sorted out by the cops but he found it pretty funny to be considered a robbery suspect in the interim.

  5. His boiler room set is ? too.  That thing he unleashes during Bad Wires is dangerous son!

Only listened to Zebrajams a few times and it's pretty good alright, gonna let it simmer on the front burner for a while.  I'm a bit cynical so pardon if I don't buy the pitch that this is some sort of return to the form of his much exalted diptych; the sound's never left IMO, just tweaked to accommodate whatever broadening of the palette he's been up to (vocals, ambient, R&B, etc.) on the past couple of albums.  Yeah faith in strangers is probably the least of the lot (#bassoontruth) but I've always found revisiting these albums to be a worthwhile experience.

Andy Stott’s first release since 2016 and first EP since 2011, ‘It Should Be Us’ is a double EP of slow and raw productions for the club, recorded this year and following on from a series of EP’s that started with ‘Passed Me By’ and ‘We Stay Together’ early this decade.

    :wtf::wtf::wtf:

    Also, nice Zebra ass!

  8. Cheers m8, all credit to the Onion for Subtember 11th tho!

Pete Rock is an absolute fucking legend alright.  I was glued to the college radio hiphop shows in the early-mid 90s and his arrival on the scene was just as big as Wu Tang or Nas (shit, his beats on illmatic!!), TROY was played nonstop, especially the Pete Rock self-remix (which is even better than the original imho, cant find it on YT though but it's not the 'vibes' remix).  Did I mention Pete Rock remixes?

Like a lot of the comments in the video, this is one of the joints that you remember where you were when you first heard it, I'd love to get the full story behind it one day.  The biggest hiphop group at the moment wants a remix?  Sure, I'll just put myself on hype and scratches, add my own verse while we're at it, and bring a beat that kicks doors off the *bomb squad* original. WHAT

You can also download individual tracks, but they're only mp3 as opposed to AIFF.

This is some wack shit in 2019.  The deprecated previews are a nice touch too.

perhaps this is all a bit too much. im still paying off the loan i took for the gas box set in which they said the albums would never be sold individually, but they did that very thing.

    also wack

Might get a release on Kompakt's bandcamp further down the line too, I'd rather have digital-only material as WAVs anyway.

Yeah, this is the kind of collection that I could see dropping $60, maybe $70 for digitals on bandcamp.  Way too expensive as it stands

  10. ^ my rule of thumb when it comes to planets and moons is that they at least be spherical-ish (you know, massive enough to have collapsed into shape), otherwise that shit's just a rock!

Here's another interesting one, there's a star out there that's been measured as being older than the universe - apparently certain things have come to light that call into question the value of the hubble constant:
