Can't believe I didn't think to post this here yet - it's pretty much the IDM of metal, or at least as close to it as I think I've heard. Norwegian jazz band, Shining, recently took a big musical turn and started making extreme jazzy experimental metal. Shit's really good though, very abstract and extremely heavy.
The 'single' from the album Blackjazz -

This one is great too, even has a borderline ripoff 'Ipacial Section' in the middle -

I suppose it would be pretty scary to have 200 of your tracks up for free online with no copyright control.

Also, separate thought here- quite a few of these rips sound great, some even in the 128kbs stream. I'm thinking about which would benefit most from remastering; there's a few that I think would really come to life.
And furthermore, some I think just wouldn't! Some of the older tracks like Sams Car and Chink 101 sound perfect as is, can't imagine they could be improved much from proper mastering.

Don't know how new it is, but Scorrier now has [101 Rainbows] after it.

I agree with thisMaybe the number of votes each track has should be hidden by default? Cos if you log in and see 28 organ with 225 votes you probably won't bother voting for it, but this poll is to find out the real fan favourites.
Seconded!

Avid acrid jam shred would be in my top five all time Aphex tracks. It's brilliant.Rough Beat Tune needs more love! I've listened to that one more than any other I think. It's basically an alternate Acrid Avid Jam Shred!
Oh mine too, definitely. I think it's one of the high points in electronic music history! But I like Rough Beat Tune for the same reasons, such a gorgeous buildup.

This album (with Morgan Ågren on drums!) is a mates all time fave so I hád to check it out. Just heard it for the first time, absolutely mental.
Ohh yeah that album fucking slays! I wish he would do more side project shit, but I suppose you can't complain when Meshuggah is still just as great as ever.

The AFX Selekta playlist has most all of my favorite tracks in it! Love it. The playlists are going to make digesting all this new music a lot easier.

While we're at it, this is my favorite Look Around You bit, so ridiculous:

Also, MED-I-BOT!

Ha Look Around You is one of the best shows ever.

What does Teac mean? It's in a few tracks.

I'm always surprised by how much better the downloads sound vs. the streams. Makes me wonder what else I'm missing whenever I stream music. Oh well. Ibiza Spliff forever!

Are they the same girl? Both have tattoos on their left arm

Love the shit like the new track! Just not really much like anything he's released before. Truly 'widening the net' I suppose.

I recall him uploading some odd, extra-obscure track (or maybe it was a mix of tracks) way back when the SC started. Was it something off the old Tuss MySpace? I think it had 'Rephlex' in the title. Someone here remembers what I'm talking about!

Hmmmm...not sure what to make of this now. I was sure that Caustic Window account was just some random dude from day one. But the video got me thinking....
I dunno, I hope he's not done. He said he was just getting started the other day!

Holy fuck, Ibiza Spliff. Such an amazing track. So lucky and grateful that we finally get to hear it.

Yeah I've always wanted to get into High On Fire, I'm huge into stoner metal, just never given em enough time I guess. Which album should I get first?
Also just started listening to Pharaoh Overlord, if anyone here has heard em. Mega hypnotic droning stoner riffs, I love it. Them and Acid King can nail that mesmerizing, zoned-out sensation like none other. "Like riding a motorcycle on quaaludes", as Lori would say.

Also, imagining being one of the guys that had to haul all that equipment up there.
