  1. it was very entertaining, I did think there would be more goals in it, but still a much better match than last year's final. First half especially was really fun to watch. The schadenfreude I experienced watching neymar in the last 20 minutes was delicious.
  2. Yes I think the final will be exciting. Bayern to win 4-2 maybe 5-2. I think PSG’s defense is still error prone, and I don’t think their fullbacks can cope with Bayern’s play on the wings. The big worry for Bayern is Boateng fucking up and Neymar burning Kimmich for speed.
  3. The dirt Bannon has on the trump campaign must be incredible.
  4. Not disingenuous at all. I am being completely sincere when I say that I find no depth to their music or art. Depth is not imbued to their art simply by virtue of them being trans persons, or any related trauma. Recognizing that art and appreciation of it is inherently subjective, I find nothing novel nor striking in their art, nor anything of particular beauty. I think their pastiche approach of combining noise, spoken word, and other genres trite and lazy, and I think artists like Genesis P-Orridge explored issues around gender in a manner much more in depth and thought-provoking.
  5. The fact that they've been normalised like that is just weird. I went to a big university, and while we had an RCMP detachment, it was literally like 2 officers on duty. The rest of the time it was campus security, no guns, no mace, just bright orange vests and flashlights for safe walks...
  6. The real problem here is: why the fuck does a university have its own police force?
  7. I feel bored. mediocre pastiche art with no depth to it is boring no matter which generation it's from.
  8. Yeah, you're right, don't know what I was thinking - maybe about the TV series. So yeah, not relevant at all, just like for most of the PL history.
  9. Appropriate that you're quoting movies from the last time you were relevant.
  10. As opposed to Japanese pop music that fetishizes western cultural colonialism, here's some music from Japan that incorporates traditional Ainu instruments and music with a revolutionary spirit (dub reggae). Oki Dub Ainu Band is awesome sauce.
  11. I may be late to the party with this, but just found out that Robert Fripp released all his "Music for Quiet Moments" pieces. They are on youtube here: As well as usual streaming platforms. Lovely lovely lovely stuff.
  12. On the contrary, not a single thought has been given to Liverpool until they became relevant again. See you again in 2050!
  13. Imagine winning your first title in 30 seasons, and you’re still caring about your rival. We’re in your head, rent free.
  14. Actually, if you read the interviews from the Bayern players who were also involved in beating Brazil, they say the two matches are not comparable, because they always felt in control against Barca. Total domination. Like I said, Bayern will win this running away.

  16. Really depends if Neymar finds his finishing boots for the next match. He was atrocious today. I have this odd feeling that Lyon will give City a very tough match, but maybe that's more a pipe dream from a United supporter. Still think Bayern wins, but for them depends which version of the Bayern defence shows up.
  17. You gotta convince the zeffs of the world. I tried to tell him that exact same thing. Voting in municipal/county/state elections has a huge impact on the direction policies can take - and turnout is so low at those types of elections, you could literally swing them with a few thousand votes.
  18. Bayern will win it running away. Lewa was robbed.
  19. Ok thanks for explaining @rhmilo. So it seems my original hypothesis is partly correct. The constitution is only partly worthless. Judges here shoot down laws all the time, of course that does lead to worries about judicial activism, but at least we have a basis for legislation to strive to adhere to with a real risk of it getting shot down if it doesn’t meet those standards.
  20. I mean here in Canada, laws can not alter or circumvent the constitution, especially the Charter of Rights and Freedoms (which is a part of the constitution). But what you’re saying here: seems to indicate that laws can’t actually fundamentally alter the constitution? So if a criminal breaks a law, could he or she challenge it on a constitutional basis? (Hypothetically)
  21. Lol really? That essentially means the constitution isn’t worth the paper it’s written on.
