  1. LOL at siouxsie and the banshees being associated with "walk like an egyptian" (although the song is atrocious pop). and raspberry beret is a classic.
  2. along with loads mentioned here: Oren Ambarchi Pete Namlook/Air (not the french band) and his many collabs of which I particularly enjoy 2350 Broadway(Namlook and Tetsu Inoue), fires of ork (Namlook and Geir Jensenn), From Within (Namlook and Richie Hawtin),Shades of Orion(Namlook and Inoue again)..the list goes on and on... Global Communication Tetsu Inoue Uwe Schmidt's ambient stuff
  3. Thanks for the store rephlex, I love you. But please: .zip files available and artwork.
  4. fuck I'm gonna have to put more into my paypal...lol although my order status went from PAID to REVIEW and now I can't download any of my orders...:(
  5. Factor in that I've already spent close to $200 on Analord tracks and another 70 doesn't seem all that appealing. Plus 75% over current market value of tracks is ridiculous.
  6. what a fucking cunt thing to say. you are really getting fleeced, man. wow. rephlex exists just to fucking put their hand in YOUR pocket. maybe Warner Brothers or Sony will come along and right all those wrongs. : I think the complaint is that potentially people have already bought some of these tracks twice (analord plus chosen lords) and are now being asked to purchase them again to get access to the unreleased stuff. Nearly £40 is a bit much for a handful of unreleased tracks in a digital download format. pretty much what Kakapo said. I already have the full binder and Chosen Lords, I would love an option just to purchase the unreleased tracks. I think there are 21 new tracks right? I'd pay 10 quid for that.
  7. Man and I just got a credit card too. Oh well. At least I'll have a good soundtrack to my financial ruin.

I am ecstatic not to have to read anything for a little while. One pretty interesting book that I just finished reading for some research was "The Company: A Short History of a Revolutionary Idea." by John Micklethwait and Adrian Wooldridge. It's not about the CIA by the way. Also just finished reading a book called "With Their Backs to the World" by Asne Seierstad. An interesting look at Serbians in the middle of the Balkan conflict of the 90s PLanned reading for Xmas break: 2 books on the history of Korea, re-reading "Guns, Germs and Steel" and something else for fun. Oh yeah, and Susan Sontag is a despicable cunt.
  9. Make sure that for albums, the album artist is tagged correctly. Did you use the iTunes importer? I think the iTUnes importer kind of sucks, especially in how it handles album information. Unless of course you're talking about downloaded music, in which case who the fuck knows how that shit is tagged.
  10. AL Hounos would be bale to get you a connector cable for like 5 bucks. I loved the fact that in Korea, no matter where you went, somebody had a cable to charge your phone. I wish Canada could get its shit together like that. I have an iPod touch 1st generation 16GB. Never had any problems with it except once after a jailbrreak (I've had it jailbroken numerous times). I wouldn't mind trying out a cowon or an iRiver, but the Touch works really well with OS X.
  11. I still can't believe how much Americans pay for weed. Fucking crazy! I thought you guys were on par with us, then I talked to a couple of my friends who live in Portland and holy shit.
  12. Yo I'm from Canada.Contrary to popular belief, we are a separate nation from America. Our holiday for putting Indians on reservations was last month, thank you very much.
  13. Hey now...they got casinos out of the deal.
  14. All of what you say is true, but if you look at the famous "hockey-stick graph" there is a significant rise in temperature after the industrial revolution got swinging...
  15. You can't take those "leaked e-mails" seriously, as the "hacker group" decided to only release part of the information. Context is probably pretty important.
  16. the fact that no one else thought of that bewilders me IRARI beat you to it by 9 months. I think that might be the winner though. April to November is 9 months? They must be teaching some of that new math over in the UK.

That's because Aquinas is a bunch of outdated bullshit. Might I suggest Hobbes' "Leviathan" instead? Online here, with downloadable PDF also available: http://oregonstate.edu/instruct/phl302/texts/hobbes/leviathan-contents.html

Man my reading list is off the hook exciting! "The Growth of Regional Trading Blocs in the Global Economy" "Losing Control? Sovereignty in an Age of Globalization" "Corporation Nation - How Corporations are Taking Over Our Lives and What We Can Do About It" "Displacement, Asylum, Migration - Oxford Amnesty Lectures" "Controlling Immigration - A Global Perspective" "Blurred Boundaries: Migration, Ethnicity, Citizenship" this last one actually is quite interesting: "The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down" - it's about the Hmong in America, and is a really interesting read. Plus numerous charts and papers from policy wonks to analyze. Good times good times...
