  1. Brothers pls. Come to Japan. chen no go Europe.
  2. For that price for the figurine I’ll go down to Fukuoka, dig up the clay and make you one myself. Edit: fixed that monstrosity of another thread. Apologies all!
  3. Don’t be such a yutz, obviously they’re going to grow up to be doctors and philosophers.
  4. Which is the stupidest gatekeeping ever. Regardless, this particular show is very much in a style that clearly derives a lot from "animation made in Japan". So it's going to get called anime.
  5. It's all anime. Animation. You wouldn't even know the word if it wasn't for the Japanese like what are you even trying to say? Yeah I was trying to avoid using those terms, but they are really just the worst.
  6. Sure, but I'm just saying you can call it anime and still be right. Like what are you going to do when you ask a Japanese person what this is and they call it anime? "Well ackshually it's not anime because that refers to a very specific style of Japanese animation blah blah blah".
  7. Anime just means animation, at least in Japan. Computer-generated or hand drawn, doesn't matter.
  8. Thanks for the heads up! I hadn't seen the usual e-mail from bandcamp.
  9. This one is definitely worth the time - classic Orb. LX put out another one right around the same time (OSS & The Orb) which was definitely forgettable. Absolutely - was a pleasant surprise, hopefully they'll put out another one.
  10. I'd give that to Sedibus and the Orb - The Heavens. Given that Sedibus is really just the Orb anyways (LX and Andy Falconer).
  11. It's not bad, but it prompted me to go back and listen Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld....you forget how easy it is to lose yourself in that album. Spanish Castles in Space....every time.
  12. They're still illegal, but police have better things to do with their time. https://globalnews.ca/news/9932718/magic-mushrooms-shops-canada/ Health Canada is doing research on the potential use of psilocybin for therapeutic purposes, and provides some options for access: https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/substance-use/controlled-illegal-drugs/magic-mushrooms.html#a7
  13. Horrifying prompt for whatever AI art generating function is popular nowadays.
  14. It is good! Great little single with 3 gorgeous tracks. Lush, glitchy, goodness.
  15. Yeah I’m only on episode 14 or something and they’ve already basically exhausted all the tropes. I actually laughed at the Japanese guy holding a fucking sword in the middle of the street in Tokyo.
  16. First two listens: So far Ectopia Removing Infinities has been by instant hit. Massive dubby track with lush bass. Although that lush bass is pretty ever present throughout. A ton of detail I'm sure I'm missing but liking this a lot. 2023 is turning into a pretty good year for music.
  17. Started watching The Blacklist with James Spader. Perfect brain pablum for when you don't want to think. Crank suspension of disbelief up to 11 to enjoy properly.
  18. A little gimmicky but I think he's just having fun and promoting Bandcamp Fridays. I paid him a couple of euros for a beautiful little single.
  19. Didn't even realize this was out. Will save it for the train to Tokyo tomorrow morning, am excited - first one was fantastic!
  20. LOL the goods that america is producing.
  21. Such a shame this is on RT because it will get discredited, but Finkelstein spot on. I love when people try and call him out for disliking Jews. I will always share this video:
  22. https://oval.bandcamp.com/album/now-never-whenever-vol-1 Markus Popp has created a gorgeously lush soundscape on this initial release. Limited for 24 hours on Bandcamp Friday, and it comes with name your own price. First in a series - if it's all as good as this first volume, we're in for a treat! Go get it quick!
  23. This is why I only like and retweet japanese noise shows and woodworking videos.
  24. It's the truth, not any sort of revisionism. Yeah I'm not discounting any of that - and there have been calls to divest from Israel, although nowhere near as strident as with South Africa. To be honest, I don't think any sort of two-state solution can work, because of the religious aspect. Like it's all well and good to look at it from a rational point of view - hey we should all work together to make the world a better place, and when we disagree on points, let's talk it out like rational people. But religious adherents are inherently irrational (see the joke about hearing voices but not getting sent to psychiatric counseling), and you (not you personally iggy) cannot rationalize that belief system away.
  25. I want to be clear that I am not excusing or justifying colonialism. THe proximal cause of the issue is religion, and until you remove that, there will be no peace. Simply removing the US/Western Europe from the equation will not solve the issue. That would be rational, but we are dealing with fundamentally irrational actors.
